Trying to help my boy find an engagement ring for his soon to be fiancee. Also looking for some diamond earings for my woman. I know in these tough economic times a lot of people are selling their jewelry just to get by. Can anybody recommend a good shop?
Yep. Be like ABM and have several women on a string until you find a rich one and hope you don't get herpes.
Yup, that's my first stop. Was curious about any other reputable ones. But your okay with exploiting people who have worked their butts off and gained?
It depends on "worked their butts off" and "gained" how much? But sure, I see the irony/hypocrisy. Do you?
Hmmm. Based on what I've seen of women, I'd (a) probably not go to a pawn shop for an engagement ring and (b) not not mention where I got the ring to my fiance if I did.
Plus, if you're a superstitious person, there is some bad vibes that go with a ring from a failed marriage/relationship.
If it's only going to be worn for a year (or less), before buying a forever wedding band I don't see what the big deal is.
Better yet, try police auctions: http://www.policeauctions.com/membe...PageCategory=JEWELRY&InvJewelMount_Code=RING1
I'm not quite sure what you're getting at; my wife wears her engagement ring and her wedding band... my mom and her mom both do the same. Am I missing some sort of new disposable engagement ring culture? Also, why not just ask your fiancee if she'd be cool with having a pawn shop ring and give the reason above. If she reacts well, you're entirely justified in your line of thinking. If you're thinking you're going to hide the fact, then you know what the big deal is already.
