All Aldridge needs to really improve to reach that next level is rebounding. The moment he can rebound at a 8+ a game; then he could be considered one of the best. I hope that all the new offensive weapons (Lillard, Improved Batum and Improved Matthews) can take the pressure off him to always score and get some fucking boards.

    Kinda sad, really.
LMA wants to be THE MAN, and he's gonna find out that he's never been or will be the best player on his own team.
Wallace desperately wanted to NOT be THE MAN, but was constantly forced to because it was obvious he was the best player on the team.

Of course, maybe it's just that I'm still a bit irked by his statement a couple of years ago about leaving the team because we wouldn't have enough $ to pay him.

    Nobody likes Brian Grant?

Hard to compare players across generations but, I would put Luke, Buck, Wallace and maybe Brian ahead of LMA. Some might argue for Cliffy or Zach, but I'd take LA over either of them.

If Aldridge improves his rebounding, he'll break into the top 10. Unfortunately, all the yelling type of coaches retired.

BigGameDamian is not from Minnesota. He's posted for years over at Oregonlive as BigGameGreg. He's a nice guy, likes to post lots of threads that ask for opinions.

I like 3brainiac, especially on the OT board, where I agree with him.

    Platonically.

Not that there's anything right with that.

Loved Brian - but LMA is without question a superior player. As much as Buck was the missing piece on the early Drexler teams, he also does not have nearly the skillset that LaMarcus brings to the floor.

LMA is almost on par with Sid Wicks or Zach. Wicks and Zach were better scorers and rebounders, but LMA does deserve credit for his superior defense.

There is no way I would put him on the same level as Luke, Buck or Sheed. I might even take Kermit Washington over him....but that is debatable.

He kind of reminds me of Mychal Thompson, except Mychal had far more loquaciousness.

Bob Whitsitt once said he would take nine Rasheed Wallace if he could.

Brian Grant is worthy of mention too. Those wars with Karl Malone are something I will always remember.

Edit: OK I see that this was mentioned up above.
