Decent, but not great, win. This Purdue team isn't the same team from the seemingly decade-long era of Robbie Hummel. They're really in that rebuilding mode right now. Speaking of the preseason tourny and Purdue, did anyone see the Purdue/Villanova game? I haven't seen a team robbed that blatantly in a while. Purdue was up by 6 with around a minute or less left in the game, and Villanova came back to tie it, not with three's, defense, or forced turnovers, but by three straight fouls called on Purdue, one of them being an extremely egregious "flagrant" offensive call, where D.J. Byrd barely grazed the Nova player's face with his forearm, bringing the ball over his head in a trap. I haven't said the refs "cost" a team a game in a while, but they definitely cost Purdue that one.
3-1 next up Montana State on Sunday at 3:00 on Pac 12 Network. then we play KANSAS!!! Friday the 30th on ESPN 3.
