Arsenal have agreed to a five-year sponsorship contract extension with Emirates to continue to have them emblazon their logo on our game and training kits for approx. £30-million/year. The deal increases the shirt sponsorship payout from £5.5-million a year in a deal signed in 2004. Arsenal also earn approx. £8-million/year from Nike to wear their brand from a deal signed in 2006 (in which £55-million was advanced). Arsenal are under contract with Nike until 2013 at which point they may switch to German-based apparel giant Adidas, most likely resulting in the Arsenal kits being outfitted with trademark triple stripes.

Arsenal's new kit deal puts them second overall in the world behind only Mancester United who currently earn £45-million/year from Chevrolet for the same deal minus the stadium naming rights. Barcelona FC earn £25-million/year from Qatar Foundation and Bayern Munich get £23.5-million/year from Deutsche Telecom.

Speculation is rampant that Arsenal will ask for a large chunk of the money up front in order to fill our transfer and expenditures coffers.
