I'd rather Neil use the cap in trades.

    The pool is very meh.

But priority #1 should be Pekovic. :devilwink:

Yes please, snap him up before he moves to Virgina beach. Would be a good interchangable player with Mathews, fit the offense well, and might mature better in this environment.

Do you offer Pek the same offer we gave Hibbert -- 4 year/$58m?

In 4 years, Leonard will be ready to start full time... Sure, why not?

I'd rather see the Grizz amnesty Rudy Gay than see Tony Allen walk during free agency.

The Grizz don't have much money to throw around though, so in the event that he does walk, he'll be looking for a huge pay day, which won't be worth a team like the Blazers' time, given that he's only valuable on one side of the ball.

I also don't think he'd be a fit, because I don't think he'd necessarily want to go to a team that's in the rebuilding process, even if they're on the up-swing of that rebuilding process. His game is all about energy, passion, and effort. He'll gel with the established teams perfectly, but I can't see him playing in his 30's for a borderline playoff team, even if the money comes his way.

I agree 100%. Mayo's numbers look nice, and the Mavericks have been okay without Nowitzki, but at the end of the day, Mayo can be a team cancer. He's the ultimate score-first black hole that most teams are trying to avoid. He can put up pretty numbers if he's the main option, but as the #3 option on the Blazers, he'd just piss ya'll off by forcing shots with LMA posted up on a mismatch, or by taking the ball up the court instead of Lillard and jacking up transition threes.

After watching the MN/POR game again, Meyers is clearly years away from being a legit starting center. He's beyond 'green.'

    All aboard the Pek-to-Portland bandwagon!

would you consider a trade of LMA to someone like Denver for McGee and Faried and perhaps a pick and other player. Or a similar package from another team or multi-team trade if we could swing it?

No that would be a horrible trade. Much harder to get a big who can score like LMA, then a couple of hustle guys. Those two guys are good role players, nothing more.

I think we'd have to make it a 3-team deal and send McGee elsewhere.

Faried + McGee wont work together.

But to get the Manimal + another (youngish) big would be solid.

Though, my preference is still Mirotic + CHA pick from Chicago. The Bulls are the best fit for LaMarcus IMO.

So a guy who potentially doesn't come over for a few years,a nd a pick we might not see until the same time? Or, if we get it before that, it's a pick in the teens? I don't see how that's even a good return for a top 5 PF in the league. And I don't want just "good" if you're moving him.

As a Warriors fan, I'd be stoked to get LMA without giving up Curry, Barnes, or Bogut. Would something like Klay Thompson, Festus Ezeli, Carl Landry (likely to opt out after this season), and Brandon Rush (out for the year, will probably opt in to his final year) be enough? I'm guessing David Lee isn't very attractive, but the Warriors could probably dump him on a talent deprived squad.

I like Klay THompson ok. I don't like him and, basically him alone as a deal for Aldridge.

Fez, you're starting to rival me in the Euro obsession. Watch out, you'll piss off a certain xenophobic element of this board.

Y'know, I bet the Bulls would totally do that...IF we take Boozer back. The trade actually works, too. Trouble is, he's on the books for THREE MORE YEARS.

(That CHA pick is looking less valuable these days, though.)

Xenophobic? You clammer for shitty players. You were crying about Claver not getting minutes, and what has he done to prove that he deserves minutes? He and Freeland have been horrible. This board isn't xenophobic, there are just some people on here who seem to think that Euro = hot shit.

    How did Sergio turn out?

    How did Rudy turn out?

    How did Monia turn out?

    How did Khryapa turn out?

We're not xenophobic... you're just delusional about European players.

All of these projects were mid/late first round picks.

Mirotic, for example, would have been a top-10 pick if it weren't for contract issues.

Seems like people said that about Rudy as well. Mirotic signed last year for what, 5 years? Is there an out in there at all, or just accepted that he's 4 years away from the NBA? To help the rebuild, you want to move LMA for a pick and a player both we might not see in 4 years. That's terrible.

Bulls would do it IF we took Boozert back? If the Bulls could do it like that, they'd jump all over it.
