Yeah, there is also the shot that Chip is limiting his recruiting as part of yet not public self imposed sanctions.

Finding Kids who want to go to Oregon is key as we see with the departures of Sumler and Blackmon... Only freshmen too.

Why we let such talented guys go, like that Lache Seastrunk? Hurts.

be it grades, the depth chart, homesickness, etc... every other team loses a few guys every offseason too. Why act like this only happens at UO?

besides, RB is near the bottom of the positions to be concerned about. Not only are they stacked with talent going forward, but several more top talents are seriously in the mix. Not all of them are going to earn the starring role they imagine for themselves, so it only figures that there will continue to be attrition from their embarrassment of riches. Oh well...

in other news, Univ. of Michigan DB commit Gareon Conley decommitted yesterday. According to rivals, he's been openly pining for months for an offer from UO that hasn't come, and is now expected to commit to tOSU where he has an offer.

Arizona WR Devon Allen is visiting Oregon on an OV this weekend. He has an offer for track and may possibly receive one for football during his visit

anything is possible, but Chip has been playing well under the allowed number of scholarship players since he arrived filling in the roster with walk-ons

Stomp! Whenever you think you're not an ASSBAG just reference how you speak to other posters here!

We've lost recruits this year, and have a top 60 class as we speak with the #5 team in the nation, our defense is hurting for lineman and lb's and that has everything to do with Chip and his NFL pursuit! Every recruiting site is saying the same thing but you "ASSBAG SUPREME" know more then everyone yet again!

 You remain a crackup on a freakout. I was at least giving you the benefit of doubt that you were having a bad day, but to insist you're serious is doubly funny. Keep calling me names as it truly paints a picture

no not every site is anywhere close to shit your pants mode like you're claiming. Oregon has a quality class going according to every site I'm aware of... they just don't have much quantity which is heavily factored into class evaluations. For example, Rivals has Oregon #43 right now and Washington #15... click this link to see. But if you then click the Avg button along the top column to re-query for quality of recruit you'll see Oregon at #10 and Washington at #21. Also of note, two of Oregon's current verbals (Tyner and Mundt) are expected to gain a star in the final round of evaluations which will bump their average star rating of those 10 guys up to 3.8 which would be 2nd only to USC

Washington currently has 19 verbals which helps boost their rating because per rivals policy the top 20 recruits count towards their class ranking. Oregon doesn't project to have 20 open spots, more like 16-17. Right now their class has 10... do you think they can turn 6-7 quality kids between now and signing day? I'll remind you that after this date last year they received verbal commitments from 8 kids including your 3 favs Arik, DeForest & Kyle Long.

Chip hasn't made one single move towards the NFL since saying no to Tampa Bay.... not one. A bunch of writers are speculating, but so what? Their job is to speculate, thats what they do, but in this instance they don't have any quotes or actions on Kelly's part since saying "no thanks" to Tampa to back it up. If you want to have your buttons pushed, keep on believing everything you hear.

In other news, it's rumored that SoCal CB and USC verbal Chris Hawkins will also be in Eugene this weekend

Although I doubt it, is it possible we're keeping the number of recruits down at present anticipating NCAA sanctions?

Outside of Robert Nkemdiche, I don't see anyone with the skill and size of Arik, Buckner or Long! So where do you hope to find this type of size and talent is beyond me in this class?

As for Chip, I don't give a cookie if he stays or goes but make a decision and let's find a coach that really wants to be here, namely our O Coordinator Helfrich who's an Oregon guy!

They graduate only Jordan and Remington off the D-Line this year. Bair and Carriger are coming off Redshirt years and Jered Ebert & Wade will be back from injury as well. Barring something unforeseen (attrition), the D-Line is already in great shape for next year both in talent and quality depth. Nkemdiche is a real longshot... I hope he visits and decides he wants to be the next Dion. I also recall you talking up Daniel Etuale... he should be getting his test scores back in the next week or two.

we and the press don't have a clue what CK's thinking or what he values. But right now isn't the time to re-up a contract or make some silly public declaration. I don't know what sort of reassurance you're thinking would put this hyperbole to rest. Personally I know it's all outside my control so I'm just enjoying the ride of being a fan... Chip has a track record thats earned my trust

Still, if RK commits, hell will raise in the deep south. Would his mom want an Oregon degree? It's rather attractive than a racist Ole Miss college near a Tuscaloosa college

Speaking of 2013 recruits. How come we haven't offered Conner Humphrey's yet? He's right in OU's backyard and could be the #1 prospect in the state

Connor Humphreys is a 2014 recruit. He's been attending Duck games as a VIP... obviously they're well aware of him.

btw... OU is in Norman Oklahoma.

The same assurances Les gave LSU! I want to be coach here and I'm not going anywhere else! Hand me my extension! How hard is that?

so short of signing a 7 year deal, you're going to continue to assume he is "constantly flirting with the NFL" despite not having any evidence of him even having had a single conversation with any NFL team since he turned down Tampa... makes perfect sense

So we are clear.... Jordan, Kiko and Clay make up most of the stops out there when we need the stops most!

We need some bad ass LB's and Buckner and AA are to slow to put the kind of pass rush we will be losing from Dion. Yes these are real levels of concern for next year!

I think with Stanford, Colt and Mundt coming in a possible solution to Jordan leaving might be moving Brown to DE!

Your logic here sucks STOMP! If Chip wants to be here he could say just that! Instead of playing coy dog with the reporters when the NFL questions present. It's obvious by him saying nothing he's looking around to see what offers may emerge!

I'm responding literally to what you've written... basically I'm retracing your sucky logic

perhaps just like Les Miles, he's going to use an offer as leverage to get himself a bigger new deal? I don't recall Les saying anything about wanting to be at LSU for ever and ever before fielding a 5 year offer from Univ. of Arkansas... do you? Playing one side against the other to drive up one's price is a common negotiating tactic.

no silly, thats only one of the possibilities as Chip plays coy dog with the reporters in regards to pretty much everything. They don't get to attend practice, no insight on the Injury front, team discipline issues, QB controversy, etc... speculations are all they're left with as they truly don't know shit and neither do we

but by all means continue jumping to conclusions if you enjoy doing the spin dance :MARIS61: but don't try to pass freaking out as anything resembling logical

to be clear... Ifo Jackson and Dargan all had more tackles then Jordan

Every season involves turnover, but the loss of Senior leaders is rarely filled by incoming Freshman. Almost always guys already in the program step into that void. Returning players who've underwhelmed initially often take big steps forward with another year of training in the program under their belts. For sure those guys listed above will be fondly remembered, but I can recall these exact same type of concerns were being expressed when Matthews Paysinger and Rowe were graduating. Good thing the Duckies have many bad asses already on board, I'm looking forward to them adding a few more
