I'm sure this subject has been started before, but I wasn't around at the time.I'm talking about teams that existed, not a "make your own team". For me, the greatest NBA team ever comes down to either the 1967 76ers, 1971 Bucks, 1972 Lakers, 1983 76ers, 1985 Lakers, 1986 Celtics, 1987 Lakers, 1988 Lakers and the 1996 Bulls. If you ask me, of those teams, I'd say the 1967 76ers are the best. They had Wilt Chambelain, Luke Jackson, Hal Greer, Wali Jones, Chet Walker, Billy Cunningham and Larry Costello just to name a few.If not them, then the 1987 Lakers. They, IMO, were the most talented team ever. Showtime was unstoppable.
I'll post a reply. The 72-10 Bulls are the best. MJ, Pippen, Kukoc, Rodman, etc.I like the 1983 Sixers with Moses, Dr. J, Barkley, and Mo Cheeks.
I think that most of the great teams in the 80's could beat the 72-10 Bulls. The Celtics, Lakers and 76ers were all more talented. That's just me though.
I agree the 72-10 Bulls were something special. just the way they dominated the league was amazing, and it wasn't just a one year fluke, they finished the following season at 70-12.
1. Chicago Bulls (1996). The team featured 4 future Hall of Famers, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Phil Jackson. They still hold the record for most wins in a season with 72.2. Philadelphia 76ers (1983). Lead by Moses Malone and Dr. J. They went a combined 12-1 throughout the NBA playoffs. They beat the tough LA lakers team in the Finals.

yes. i don't give a damn what that says, you can't stop a 72-10 team. what's the highest amount of wins under 72? Results, my friend, results.

Just read that site.
If the 1996 Bulls played in the 80's, they wouldn't have won 72 games. They wouldn't have gotten passed the 76ers in the playoffs, and if they did, they'd lose to Boston in the ECF. And if by some miracle they made it all the way to the Finals, Showtime would be there waiting to run circles around them. The 1967 76ers don't get enough credit though, they could beat any team ever.

the best team in NBA history in my opinion are the Lakers in the early 70s when they went on an NBA record (33 consecutive wins i think)they had:Wilt ChamberlainJerry WestElgin BaylorGail Goodrich(i think they had) Pat Riley

Pat Riley came off the bench and played and was a bruiser during practice. Their starting 5 was:Wilt ChamberlainJerry West Gail GoodrichHappy HairstonJim McMillanElgin Baylor retired after the first 9 games into the season.
