Is there anything to get excited about with this team? At the beginning of the year, we could be pleased that Batum was living up to his new contract, and that Lillard was looking like ROY, but now they are playing like shit. This team is like a woman with no vagina.
Person who started this thread....... did you not think this was going to happen this year? 28 wins and I'm sticking to it!
Enjoying it much more than last year. Went to a total of 0 games last year, been to three already this year with tickets to more. It's kinda like the Brandon Roy Rookie year, low expectations and fun times (cheap tickets help).
I thought this team was capable of playing .500 ball because of the quality of the starting lineup. I knew our bench was a question mark, but didn't expect it to suck so bad. I also didn't expect the Blazers to have the worst defense in the NBA, and I still don't understand what our problem is.
I predicted 30 and I still think that's the ballpark. But I am thrilled with how fun this team is to watch compared to last season.
I don't think we've seen the best of our bench yet, but I'm thinking that i've seen close to the worst. Freeland's better than he's shown, and Leonard or Hickson (whoever doesn't start) will, with Jeffries, make a pretty decent big-man rotation. It's been said ad nauseum, but we need a combo guard who can play 8 mpg of solid PG. Smith ain't it, and I think Ronnie's best served behind a glass case saying "open in case of injury or entrance into Tank Mode."
How about Telfair by the way? He's been playing well for Phoenix. Do they want anything we have? Maybe they wanna go young and would take Nolan for Telfair straight up?
Telfair isn't really any deal for backup PG. I'll stick with Price. Besides, I keep thinking Smith can do better. He just needs confidence.
I'd see how cheaply SAC would get rid of Isaiah Thomas. For some reason he's peeved Coach Smart off, and is pulling splinters from his backside. He'd be the 3rd-best guard we have.
