Well, here we are. The end of the 2012 season, more deep south dominance and an intriguing year of college football. Notre Dame has the luck of the irish as they go down south to Miami to face an experienced Alabama Crimson Tide. Here are the other BCS bowls: Rose Bowl Stanford vs Wisconsin. We all thought Wisconsin, given their lackluster start, wouldn't even dream of a bowl game let alone a BCS bowl. But, they channeled some WVU and shellacked Nebraska, and their great rushing attack is going to clash against a scrappy Stanford team whose #1 in rush D. Kevin Hogan is also undefeated in his last starts, and all over ranked teams. Winner: Stanford. 31-21. Fiesta Bowl Oregon vs Kansas State If only they took care of business, they'd be headed to Miami. God must have a thing for the south(then again, it does possess the Bible Belt...) and now we have a National Championship Caliber matchup in Glendale. Oregon's high octane attack vs K-State's ground and pound. A freshman versus a Hesiman finalist senior. Winner: Oregon. 55-38. Sugar Bowl Florida vs Louisville If Florida didn't act like it wasn't drunk on cocktails in Jacksonville, they would have played(and maybe beat) Alabama in Atlanta. In addition, many a Sooner fan are baying for the BCS' head for being spurned again in favor of the Big East. Teddy Bridgewater can start his 2013 Heisman Campaign with this game. Winner: Florida. 28-21. Orange Bowl Florida State vs Northern Illinois. The huge shocker everyone is talking about. A MAC school, a BCS buster making it into a BCS bowl against a preseason National Champion contender. The Huskies offense has firepower, but I doubt their defense can contain James Wilder Jr and company, not to mention for FSU, this is somewhat of a home game. Winner: Florida State. 45-28. National Championship Game. Notre Dame vs Alabama. Defensive titans clash in South Beach. The Irish has had bad games, but winning ugly is still winning. Alabama in their games against TAMU, LSU, and Georgia proved that they have weak spots and no signature pass rusher like LSU's duo. Notre Dame's O-line is big and beefy and can contend with the SEC, and their Defense is nothing to snort at. For Alabama, it's AJ McCarron or bust, as the Irish will lock up the run and try to triple cover Amari Cooper. Winner: Notre Dame 16-14.
I'm actually really interested to see how the Rose Bowl goes. Wisconsin's running game is as good as Oregon's, but it's based on power rather than speed. We saw the Cardinal bottle up the Ducks; I'm curious to see how well their defense holds the Badgers.
Oh my God!! Stanford vs Wisconson in the rose bowl! Pathetic! I'm glad now that we didn't win the Pac12 Championship, because who wants to face an unranked team in a bowl game?? Jesus! That has to be the worst Rose Bowl of all time! The Fiesta Bowl is going to be a hell of a lot better! You know....a few balls fall the other way and this could have easily been the Natty!
Is it just me, or does the whole bowl schedule look pretty weak this year? I know that we've got a four team playoff coming, but how about reconfiguring the bowl qualifications as well? I know there's a degree of history involved, but you wind up with uninteresting match-ups like Stanford/Wisconsin and Florida/Louisville. How about Stanford/Florida?
BCS national championship...... ND keeps it close within 7 first half and then Bama's Oline takes over!!! Bama 35-14 Fiesta Oregon 52-21 over Kstate, KState realizes that speed kills in a hurry!! As for the rest of the Bowls who cares..... mercy killings most of them! That said, OK and A&M could be worth a pitcher and I feel deep sorrow for GT, Nebraska and Louisville! All of these schools will be jackhammered into the turf!!!
