    My theory is that the players will take it more seriously if they have to put some of their own money out there.

    It's a valid point, but I honestly think they would take it seriously when a legend walks into the room and says "I am here to help you, let's get started"

    Why is this big news? Hakeem has said before that anyone who wants to come down and work with him is more then welcome to. The 100k is so Hakeem doesn't work with anyone else at the same time.

    I always thought that the 2 centers with the most raw talent in history were Walton and Olajuwon, not necessarily in that order. They both were coached well but in different styles. Hakeem's quiet Muslim personality was the opposite of Bill Fitch's, just as Walton's was the opposite of John Wooden's.
