Raymond Felton | 20 2005-06Statistics PPG 11.9 RPG 3.30 APG 5.6 MPG 30.1 Chris Paul | 32005-06StatisticsPPG 16.1 RPG 5.1 APG 7.8 MPG 36.0 Many will think that I am crazy for bringing this debate up because Chris Paul was the ROY and Charlie Villanueva followed him with Raymond Felton nowhere in site but in reality when you look at everything Raymond Felton,in my opinion, is the better basketball player and has the brighter future.Felton started out the season cold averaging about seven ppg his first two months of the season which never allowed him to bring up his statistics. Raymond Felton also averaged half a quarter less playing time than Chris Paul and really shined at the end of the season once he got the feeling of the league.Raymond Felton: season splitIn November 16 1 19.1 .316 .357 .730 .5 1.6 2.1 4.0 1.1 .06 7.1 In December 14 5 24.4 .325 .219 .567 .9 2.1 3.0 4.1 1.3 .14 7.4 In January 16 14 29.9 .398 .314 .650 1.2 2.4 3.6 4.6 1.1 .13 10.3 In February 11 11 36.1 .450 .457 .857 1.7 2.8 4.5 6.5 1.4 .18 15.6 In March 14 14 36.8 .457 .474 .714 .9 2.9 3.8 6.6 1.1 .07 17.0 In April 9 9 40.9 .357 .235 .816 .6 2.6 3.1 9.8 2.0 .00 17.2Chris Paul: season splitIn November 14 14 36.7 .422 .262 .825 1.1 4.4 5.5 6.8 2.0 .07 16.4 In December 15 15 36.7 .453 .318 .774 .7 5.7 6.4 7.9 2.6 .00 16.3 In January 14 14 34.2 .405 .265 .875 .6 4.4 5.0 7.5 2.1 .14 16.4 In February 10 10 35.0 .481 .421 .882 .9 3.4 4.3 9.5 2.2 .10 17.2 In March 14 14 37.6 .408 .262 .836 .5 3.6 4.1 7.8 2.2 .00 15.0 In April 11 11 35.4 .424 .222 .906 1.1 4.1 5.2 8.0 2.3 .18 15.8Chris Paul played well the whole season and earned the rookie of the year award but Raymond Felton, in my eyes, had the better last three months of the season but cost himself the roy shot by playing mediocre the first two months. Raymond Felton also had more options and was not the main focus in Charlotte...Gerald Wallace and Brevin Knight both needed the ball to be effective while Chris Paul was the main option in New Orleans.Chris Paul also took about a hundred more shot attempts during the regular season which allowed him to add more to his points per game and that proves my point of Chris Paul being the main man in New Orleans.Let's take a look at season highs:Raymond Felton 2005-06 HIGHS CAREER HIGHS Points 31 Field Goals Made 13 Field Goals Attempted 22 Three Point Field Goals Made 4 4 Times Three Point Field Goals Attempted 10 2 Times Free Throws Made 10 Free Throws Attempted 13 Offensive Rebounds 5 Defensive Rebounds 6 2 Times Total Rebounds 8 Assists 14 Steals 5 2 Times Blocks 2 Chris Paul Points 28 Field Goals Made 11 2 Times Field Goals Attempted 21 Three Point Field Goals Made 3 2 Times Three Point Field Goals Attempted 6 3 Times Free Throws Made 14 Free Throws Attempted 17 Offensive Rebounds 4 Defensive Rebounds 11 Total Rebounds 12 Assists 16 Steals 7 Blocks 1 6 Times Even though Chris Paul had the better season statistically I think Raymond Felton has the better game and ended the season stronger than Chris Paul did and in my opinion, has more potential and will become the better player in the future. So does anyone else share the same opinion I share or anyone have any comments or opinions to share??...

I think Paul is better, and will be for awhile, but I do think Felton will be a good player down the line. Just gotta wait for their development [IMG]

don't get me wrong, I love ray, but it'd be tough for him to keep up with Paul for his whole career. Chris Paul is a superstar in the making, Felton will be an all-star. CP3 is just a step ahead, and likely always will be.

But both of them are going to be great PG's..Like dogma said; CP3 is just one step ahead, he's one better than Felton. Both are going to be all-stars, and both will be elite point guards in the league in the near future..

Its not even close. Sure, Raymond Felton is a good basketball player but Chris Paul is just on another level like dogma said. Everyone says that Ray Ray is just going to get better....well Chris Paul is too.

He showed everyone out there that he is a superstar in the making. He almost led a team of nobodies to a playoff berth in the tough Western conference, and he also played in the toughest division in basketball the whole season. To say that he is hyped shows little knowledge for the NBA, not to say that Felton isn't going to be good, but he is a star in the making, not a superstar.

This is completely stupid. Both of them are very good passers. I would give Paul the advantage by a bit there, but Paul is the way better scorer, he is quicker, better rebounder, and defender, and he has alot more potential. He almost led the freaking Hornets to a playoff spot when everyone thought they would be the worst team in the League. He really helped out David West as well. And dont forget that Raymond Felton shot 39% from the floor last year

Raymond Felton is completely underrated and deserved to be a top 5 pick in my opinion but this is not close at all.

Back during the NCAA tournament in their final years at UNC and Wake this was actually kind of a close argument. But now it's easy to see...

Defiently chris paul, he might not be that better than felton, but paul has the passing abillity and the on court leadership that coaches look for in a PG
