I mean, I don't see any other FA that would be worth the money. Does Mayo make us much better. Does Wes mind coming off the bench? Will Mayo be fine with leaving Dallas? Will Lillard/Mayo be the best backcourt in the league in three years? Is this what I have to look forward to? Plus Zeller? Help me out here.

we need a C more than an SG IMO, Meyers is a few years away, then we need massive bench help

Trying to hit a grand slam home run in FA is idiotic and teams are learning that lesson now. I'll say it again. We need to increase both quality and quantity of talent and add a few solid role players.

Never been a fan of Mayo. Him lighting it up on a Dallas team were he is the focal point of the offense does not impress me.
The guy can score but he is a high volume shooter whos defensive lapses make javelle mcgee seem like KG.
He is going to be a near max guy. Id rather keep babbit and hickson and sign two more players that are actually good and bolster our depth.

being small for the 2 guard spot doesn't help his D. Because of Batum's ability to effectively slide to the 2, I'd rather they go after another athletic all around 3 who'd they bring off the bench. As of now, they've no one who can play behind Nic

Ideally for me we split the cap space between 2 decent backups instead of going for 1 big signing/trade, Jarrett Jack and Carl Landry plus our ever better looking lotto pick on a wing like Archie Goodwin and I'd consider the offseason a big success.

You have to over-pay to get the "cream of the crop" in FA, which is usually a 2nd tier player, because the top ones usually resign. And if they don't resign it's to go to a big market team, not a team like Portland. It's just the way the system works.

I think this team really needs defense, backups and a center. Though games like last night make me really wonder if there is any hope for this team, because sometimes the starters look like crap.

    Maybe Pekovic??

Correct me if I am wrong but Mayo does not seem to attack the basket. Every time I watch him he is shooting outtside jumper. Wes can do that.

Mayo is playing well, but I would not over pay for him.

Before this season Wesley was statistically better than Mayo and obviously plays better defense. Mayo is shooting 52% from three right now. I don't anticipate him keeping that up. He's marginally better than Wesley.

Mayo is fool's gold. His selfish behavior will poison our team. What he's doing in Dallas now is great; but I suspect things will change once Dirk comes back.

Sounds like the focal point of our offense...

IMO this is a recipe for constant mediocrity. To win in this league, teams need superstars, not lots of solid players. Quality >>> quantity.
