He has terrific inside moves. Just because Stotts prefers him outside doesn't mean he can't play inside. He's also a terrific #1 option. So what part is moronic? Pretty much the entire thing.
The dude has made his career being a face up jump shooter. It's not even up for debate. Mcmillan begged and pleaded for years to get him in the paint to use his length. He did it for one season and he finally made an AS game. He's back to his usual ways. Thats not #1 option stuff.
Actually, he did it for two seasons and only made one all star game. But that's besides the point, Aldridge is playing outside now because of Stotts.
I think you misunderstand, I really did mean "nice try." You gave this some thought, you had logical defenses for it and the bottom line is that people will usually hate trade proposals, thinking that it's either not enough or that "we" give up too much. Personally I wouldn't hate nor love the trade if it happened. I don't think it would necessarily put us much closer to contention than building around Aldridge, but it would make the team a little more balanced and add some assets, which are woefully absent from this roster. It moves the needle somewhat and I think it's a trade the Wizhards would probably consider ... I just doubt that it will ever happen.
