Recently, I posted examples of my art work, and since I work fast, I am now getting my first showing of art ever starting tomorrow. Some of my paintings will be hanging at the Night Light lounge in SE Portland for the next month. Also one of my favorite local bars. Feel free to check it out if you feel so inclined. As a side note, I also posted music recently. My next music show is the 19th of this month at the Doug fir. Sorry for the self promotion. Just kind of thought I would update anyone who cared. Also, it's the off topic forum, so...I guess it's alright..hehe.
Awesome - I'll have to check out the art at Night Light (and maybe have some beverages while I'm there).
congrats man, good luck, hope you sell out the first night! wait, not "sell out", but like your paintings and concert sell out, umm...YEAH!
I get what you mean. I have to admit, it was fun seeing my art hang publicly. Kind of a neat feeling. If nothing sells, it will still be alright. It is kind of a first step out there. Of course the Doug fir music show is a different animal. If we don't get people out, we most likely won't be invited back.hoping for a good turn out!
Can you link some music? And maybe give some details like time, price, and if you are headliners or openers. And big thumbs up on both the Night Light Lounge and the Doug Fir. Both great places.
Thanks man. I am a big fan of both places as well. We are opening the show at Doug fir. I don't have the exact figures yet, but I would guess at the 8 dollar range and doors most likely open at 9. I will update those pertinent details when I can. Link to my project. http://herecomedots.bandcamp.com/
My art will be there until the 4th of January I believe. As a note, it is in the back room behind the bar.
In super secret news, "living in a silent film" is getting remade and will be featured on our upcoming full length. Looking forward to a clearly recorded version.
Oh man, I can dig this music! Age of Reason reminds me of Radiohead back when they made a lick of sense. Now I'm getting a big The Walkmen vibe. Awesome stuff!
I went to the Night Light tonight and saw your paintings. Pretty darn nice, I enjoyed seeing them in real life. Keep it up, you have some serious talent.
Thanks god. I am glad that God likes my art...hehe If you noticed, there are only 3 of mine still up there. The artist for January didn't have enough material so they asked me if they could keep a couple of mine up for an extra month. I actually sold a couple of paintings as well.....which was pretty great timing as I have recently become unemployed (long story). I am going to be taking those paintings down this Friday and setting up my next show at Meat Cheese Bread on February 6th. I should be hanging about 14 pieces for this one. Pretty damned excited. Thanks for checking it out!
Congrats, both on selling some and on setting up a new show. Also, you should post some pics over on Denny's list, you might find some buyers here. Can't hurt.
I just might have to do that! My next show comes with an interview and my pieces selling in the venue and also on an online retailer. But, Denny's list couldn't hurt! Also, to get back to music, I just played an amazing show up in Seattle at the High Dive. I don't think I have ever had more fun. Someone there recorded the whole thing. Feel free to check it out! http://vimeo.com/58347534
