IF I actually lived with my dad (who's quite wealthy) I'd prolly not be living here now, and would mooch off of him to get the money/resources to move outta the country. No one else in that nation had the means to stand up to his regime, as there was no other military. That was definately not a civil war. He personally used that military to keep control, and Iraq invaded other countries, he supported terrorism, and was known to fund terrorism.

I have a hard time saying Saddam supported terrorists considering he didn't allow extreme muslim groups inside his country. Sure he paid some homicide bomber families but thats about it.

The security forces are filled with extremeists and renegades unfortunately...there's no screening checks with them...Everything is a mess. When religions run governments and dominates politics it doesn't work, thats why the middleeast and Iraq will be a mess forever. Our government was nieve enough to think we could easily take over and change things...Saddam's goverment kept that religious fire in check..and now that it's released it's exploding...and we didn't expect it.
