Ten-year MMA veteran Mark Hominick (20-12) announced his retirement today. Hominick, 30, has been an influential fighter in the smaller weight classes, competing as a lightweight before there was a featherweight division, and is considered one of the pioneers of MMA in Canada. Hominick suffered his fourth loss in as many fights this November at UFC 154 in Montreal, dropping a unanimous decision to Pablo Garza--who, after the fight, cited Hominick as one of his heroes in the sport.
