I was on BART train yesterday afternoon and saw a man with a small boy, presumably his son, no more than 3 or 4 years old, wearing a little Lakers jacket.

Should innocent, impressionable children be exposed to the Lakers? Could this harm the child for life?

Wow, that is so sad. Yes, you should have taken a picture with your phone and then reported the incident to children's services.

Perhaps he was punishing the boy for misbehaving?

That was my first thought. But, you have to train them when they are young. My daughters learned they lose privileges if while doing a craft purple touches yellow. Sometimes they have to learn the hard way.

Well, I do understand children who misbehave need to learn there are consequences, but no child should be punished with public shaming like that.

Portland does have the biggest L.A. transplants population than any other mid/large city on the west coast.

Hence the huge douche population in Laker gear at every LAL/POR game.

the child prolly has a learning disability, and thinks wearing a lakers shirt will scare all the poop demons away, kinda like smearing yourself with zombie entrails

If so, this definitely falls under the umbrella of cruel and unusual punishment!

    Quick, somebody call CSD!

LOL! I did the same thing with my son! He picked up a purple and yellow crayon and I gave him a stern talk about how those two colors NEVER go together. I then handed him two crayons: Red and Black.

Depends on how far you are from Los Angeles. In Pasadena, the kid would just get his mouth washed out with soap. In my day, the father would have gone easy on his son and just belted him with his belt a few times. Of course, I was in San Bernardino. You get out to Palm Springs and the father would have been told by a burning Joshua tree to sacrifice his son to Yahweh. That was before my time.

But jlprk, since the boy was so young I think it's likely he did not pick the jacket. More probable his father or some other "grown up" to use the term loosely either got him the jacket or told him who to root for (ungrammatical, I know). So washing his mouth with soap is adding insult to injury.

It wasn't this kid, but 2 years ago, the Lakers killed a boy!
