Andrea Bargnani's elbow injury will keep him out indefinitely so Ed Davis has the task of backing up these words. Davis put up 24 points (11/13 shooting) and 12 rebounds last night in 45 minutes starting in place of Bargs against the Nets. He also added three steals with only one turnover. However the Raptors lost their sixth straight game.

Ed Davis has been pretty great this season. However, with him and Val in the front court, our defense is pretty bad. Val will be a good defender in a few years and Ed is already a good help defender but the problem is that they are both too weak. Cousins, Pekovic, Al Jefferson all destroyed because our players just aren't strong enough to contend with them. I'm not saying Bargnani is better by any stretch but he is stronger and is a decent one on one defender. But put him in a pick and roll or if he has to try to guard someone that just got past one of our guards (happens a lot), he's completely lost. Its sad how we have so many one dimensional players.

Ed Davis and Val can always build more strength, right now the Raps just need players that actually look like they wanna play.
