A good reason to look at Tyreke?

    J.J. Hickson's Sacramento numbers:

    4.7 PPG | 5.1 RPG | 37 FG% | 9.9 PER

    Contract buyout.

    Many DNP-CD's.

With Portland, Hickson has averaged a PER of 20 and a double-double. Thomas Robinson is looking very similar to Hickson this season. Hickson started out strong as soon as he stepped on the court in a Blazer uni.

There's just no structure with their player development. This falls directly on their GM and the coaching staff.

Tyreke started out strong but has fallen off the face of the planet in Sacramento after his rookie season. A new scenery/staff is probably what he needs. The same thing could probably be said about Cousins as well.

It will be interesting to see how Thomas Robinson progresses. He was so hyped by many on this board. But in all fairness most rookies struggle their first year.

Beal is another one that I keep watching and expecting more from. He has looked OK at times and bad other times. He looked lost last night against the Lakers.

The more I watch Hickson the more I think they should resign him. Not sure they will get a better free agent next year. He would be a big loss.

Not sure about Tyreke, he is good at attacking the basket and he has improved his 3 Pt shot. But I would really like SG who can pull up and hit a medium range jumper with consistency. I miss BRoy

I do agree that Hickson has been a real find. The last game I had flash backs to Kersay as far as hustle and drive..

Lamb, Beal ..and all those "cant miss" guys..they can stay where they are ..BT both players mentioned in the OP would be great here..i just dont see it happening. Sac is just not that dumb..

F.Hammersticks has a jones for Kings players like the TimberPups do for Zurs players. Now if only I could link to an animated GIF that summarizes that thought without having to use any words at all!!!

Simply writing "Zurs" will get you noticed just as much. Let's skip this boring Christmas season and dive straight into Valentines Day.

who's available to trade, though? I mean, looking around the league I'm interested in (in no particular order) JJ Redick, Varejao, Jimmer, maybe Brandon Jennings, Derrick Williams, Nene/Seraphin/Livingston,

We have maybe Wes and LMA who a) we can physically trade and b) other teams might like to have. Not any of the rookies, not Sasha or Ronnie or Jeffries, and we don't have a draft pick available to trade until 2018. I keep hoping that maybe MIN would give up Derrick Williams (who doesn't play much) for something like Sasha and Jeffries and a 2nd, but that's peeing into the wind. I might do a Wes for Redick move if ORL gave up something, but that's not happening either. If LMA is traded you need a big man and some more talent (high draft picks or potential studs) coming back, and I don't see that happening.

Wes and Hickson (waiving his no-trade) for Jennings and Dalembert's expiring might be very intriguing.

Tyreke is a ball dominate guard as is Lillard. We need a player who can play off the ball and defend much like wes or Courtney lee.
Id love tyreke as a sixth man but the money wed pay for him wouldnt be resonable for a sixth man.

Do you expect him to get a better deal from the Kings or elsewhere?

I'd say buy low if we can. Move on if we can't.

Tyreke can play multiple positions (PG, SG, SF) and would be a nice player to have on the bench once he's determined being a part of the team.

I'm expecting him to get 10m+ this off season. Every bad team with money is going to take a look at him and think "the Kings didn't know how to use him, we do".

He's not worth 10m+ per year coming off the bench as a 6th man type of player. Move on at that point.

Thats what I was saying. If we could snag him at 5-6m i'd have no problem if he was coming off from the bench but at what he would command he would need to be a starter and I don't think he can be a starter an effective without the ball.

That could be a good signing. This team has outside shooters, and could use a penetrator. It would also allow us to have a good 6th man off the bench to backup to 2 and 3.

I have a hard time thinking any team will offer him that kind of money.

Yuup. The whole free agent market will be a toss up though so I'm not getting my hopes up.
