I'm not even close to being against people owning guns. I think the responsible gun owners have every right to have their guns. What I worry more about are people owning guns without the proper mandatory safety and training to handle. Also registration, like a car isn't a bad idea. Why are you so against that?

Also, driving a car and allowing an uninsured motorist crash and kill someone with it; you are responsible for damages and possibly the felony count too. Why shouldn't guns be any different?

Most hunters actually kill for food. So should we make fishing poles illegal too? Maybe we should shut down all the slaughter houses and force everyone to be vegan.

Yes they kill the guy about to rob the hell out of you, statistically everything seems to indicate that.

Your scientifically illiterate argument is what I expected, though.

Mags, a gun owner is responsible for the guns he or she owns. Even in the hands of others at times. To add yet another tax just for owning one is bullshit, nor do I want taxes on my guitars or any other item that I have already purchased

Yes but a guitar doesn't have the ability to hurt or damage like that of a gun or car.

statistics? please show. scientifically illiterate? what the fuck are you even talking about? Are you just combining words and the idea of statistics to back up an argument? I might not agree with others on the topic, but at least they're able to somewhat argue their position. Statistics show me that.

This shows the ignorance of gun control advocates. Automatic and semi-automatic guns are the least accurate and least efficient guns made. Assault rifles like the M16 are even less accurate due to their short barrel.

I do not own any semi-automatic or fully automatic guns at all, nor do I intend to in the future. Were I in a shootout against someone, I'd prefer they had an auto rather than a non-auto, for the advantage it would give me.

Gun control nuts only start with autos when they try to outlaw guns because fewer people have them (so less opposition) the media (huge supporter of gun control) has made them seem scary. The universal goal of all gun control advocates is the complete confiscation of weaponry from American citizens.

Your swimming pool should be banned as well.

The problem with these "reasonable and limited" reforms is that they don't stay limited. The solution is to allow people to act like grown ups and determine if they want to allow guns, or to visit places that allow/disallow guns.

I'm fine with people hunting. I just mentioned the death portion because though they're hunting, it's not changing the use of the gun.

    Never said to ban guns.

And a swimming pools go through a very strict building safety before the city approves BTW.

If I wave a gun in your face and tell you to run away as fast as you can, you probably will. Not for killing. Intimidation in this case.

If you come at me with a knife and I pull out a gun, you might consider running away, too. Self defense. Not a shot fired. No killing.

If 2 or more guys come at me with handguns and I want to protect myself, a semi-automatic weapon would be a pretty good choice.

I happen to think (for argument's sake) guns are cool. So I collect them and mount them on the wall. Each is a work of art in its own right. I might not ever shoot any one of them.

In fact, I might buy one for $100 today and sell it for $200 tomorrow. Not a shot fired, and it turned out to be a pretty awesome investment.

Those are off the top of my head. Everyone who owns a gun has their own reasons. FREEDOM. LIBERTY.

Sorry but I don't want regulated pools, that's a waste of taxpayer money. You're not entitled to a nice pool when visiting someone's house, dude.

M16 is one of the most accurate assault rifles made. Where are you getting your information from? Maybe you are thinking of the M4; which is a M16 conversion. The M16 barrel is 14 inches. A common hunting rifle is a .308; which has an 18" barrel. A 30/30 has a 20" barrel. Regardless; 4" isn't as big of a difference as you think. There are sniper rifles from the M16 family SR-22 that has a 17.12" barrel.

So if I'm building a skyscraper, I want it to collapse?

Economically illiterate argument to me. The property owner will not make money unless his building is sound, pick up a textbook.
