I still think Bob Whitsit built the best Blazers basketball team we have seen and he did it though trades and free agent market.
I've always liked Nate, maybe just because he plays well against the Blazers. Not sure why he bounces around the league so much like he's garbage. Ironically, he's stats per minute look identical to Lillard's, including shooting the exact same %
This is pretty much my impression of him as a Warrior. I see why hes passed around the league, but I also think hes not as bad a player as some think. If a team is starved for bench scoring and/or a backup 1 who can produce anything, he's a fine scrap heap 6th man. Can be awful at times, he can absolutely go off at times, but he was actually fairly steady in GS and seemed to have a great attitude.
I would rather have Delonte West, but Stotts would know best since he coached West in Dallas. But strictly from a talent standpoint, West is exactly what we need as our back up PG. The dude must really be messed up if no one will take him. I bet he winds up on a good team that is desperate after their starting PG gets injured. As for Nate.......I find him irritating as hell. So he might as well be irritating for us.
And he can also jump high enough to get his shot up over anybody in the league, so his height is irrelevant.
So did we. We got the best player in the 2012 draft with the 6th pick. A future perennial All Star point guard. We also got the best player in the 2006 draft. Those are two cornerstone players. They just need a little bit of help.
We already have two, maybe 3, All Star level players. Aldridge is already in. Lillard soon. Batum not long after that if he continues to progress.
otherwise known as Matthews, Hickson, and Babbitt, the best in the business at what you just described the pieces are there. We just need to let Lillard and Leonard develop for a year, get playoff experience, and make our move next season with just a little more depth at PG and C
And he would get us the Kenyons and Delontes. The really talented players other teams don't have the patience for. If you can play, come play for us. And Kenyon and Delonte can play.
Delonte/Sasha/Babbitt/Kenyon/Leonard is suddenly a very strong, versatile bench with a good mix of old and young.
Seriously adding Nate Robinson is just what we need coming off the bench. He can be our combo guard too; playing some minutes at SG if there is foul trouble or we need more quickness on our back-court.
I think the major issue with Deltonte is his criminal issue. Obviously for me; it's not that big of a deal; but I assume the whole "JailBlazer" montage may be in effect.
