I don't think anyone hates him for his game. Just what he does in particular off the court. And, some of his on the court actions.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Diesel @ Aug 14 2006, 03:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Kobe was the best player in the league last year INDIVIDUALLY. I don't hate him because he's the best. I never hated Jordan. As a lad I loved Micheal Jordan. Read his picture book biographies, watched the Bulls(never knew any of their names other than Micheal Jordan). Kobe just has this aura around him that makes you want to hate him. I don't see how anyone could have him as their favorite player. I look for more than skills in a guy. 2000 was the first year Shaq played more than 60 games as a Laker.(in 98-99 the lock-out season occured). I think that is a great reason for the Lakers dominance. Shaq was plauged by injuries his first two years with LA which resulted in a poor Seed without homecourt. Phil Jackson is the GOAT of coaches though so I see what your saying. Without him Kobe would've been watching the playoffs at home AGAIN. If Shaq stayed in LA Kobe would've bolted. BOLTED. Not requested to be traded. He would've just left you guys. Because he wanted to be the unquestioned best player on the team.</div>Ok, since you love Jordan why don't you read the jordan rules? Why don't you find out how jordan threatened not to pass the ball? and there's more to it.You see how no-one could have him as his favourite player? Are you that thick? How about this season when he was the only person who wanted to win? Odom had like 3 points in one game and phil was being a stupid ass coach with his lack of timeouts. The guy put the franchise on his back on the court. Cried when we lost to the spurs, jumped for joy when we won. When a guy is out there trying his hardest to get the w, there is no way in hell you can't like him. Actually, there's no such thing as a laker fan who doesn't like kobe. They might not like kobe's personaltiy but his passion and dedication to getting this team somewhere makes up for it.I don't know how you can be fan of a guy who said " i got injured on company time so i'll get surgery on company time". That sh*t is a joke, he said that as a leader of the team. As far as i'm concerned, i'm happy Shaq is out because he was going to destroy the laker organisation. He wanted 30 freaking million dollars . Thank god Kobe is a laker.edit: I agree 100%, without phil kobe would be watching the playoffs from home. The triangle is the reason why were in contention for a playoff spot, the talent is not there. Not even mj without phil could take this laker team to the playoffs. He couldn't get to .500 in first years as a leader in a weak east, imagine what would happen in the west of today. The triangle is the reason why we 3 peated, without triangle no 3 peat. Even shaqs prime would not save us

On the Lakers he had a clucth player Robert Horry, he another option KOBE bRyant you think the Lkaers would have 3 title without Kobe come on. Now look at the team he just won a championship with,Jason Williams(better than Fisher),Wade(close to Kobe,Antoine Walker(almost like horry big men shooting, but wasnt as clucth as him),Haslem (was way more better then Samaki Walker). Then you look at his bench gary payton can name 15 teams that could have had a starting PG as him,Jaames Posey a nasty shooter and a solid defender(alot more better than Fox). Zo on the bench a solid role player. he has the better team than the lakers back in 2000-2003</div>Haha the ole supporting cast argument. Tell me this. How many times have the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers been past the FIRST ROUND after Shaq left? From contenders to strugglers.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ok, since you love Jordan why don't you read the jordan rules? His off-court antics are horrible though. I also believe if his name wasn't Kobe Bryant he would've been guilty in that rape case. Did he rape her? Noone but Kobe and the girl know. Did he have sex with her? Yes we know that. Semen samples.Shaq on the other hand will be a guy who everyone will remember. He always does charity. Always talks with the fans(Kobe doesn't, only when his camera crew is around). Kobe Bryant just tries to restore his image so much that he acts phony. He doesn't act forom the heart. Honestly there isn't anything I like about him. MJ in his prime could take probably any team to the playoffs. Not Wizard MJ. I'm talking about 1991 MJ.
Shaq had sex with numerous women and payed them off, Mj cheated on his wife. Big whooping deal. And it's probably false because she had 9 different semen on her, more than likely she wanted a big pay day.Secondly, there is no way in hell MJ in 91 takers this years team to the playoffs without phil jackson. MJ wasnt' a miracle worker, he can't make kwame brown make lay ups. He called kwame brown a bi*ch, i haven't heard kobe call kwame a bi*ch. And sorry, he didn't throw a tv at odom. False story. Is it me or is MJ becoming better by the year?http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1648431Now this kobe is probably being told by nike or whateva to not come up with stuff like that. It's called being a smart buisness, something shaq nows very well.edit: How on earth do you know what is coming from kobe's heart? he's smiling in interviews might be fake but comeon, he can't keep his guard up every time. And this season and last, i have never seen kobe being negative. It's people like you that whaever kobe does, you will still hate. And this is why you are a hater.
I haven't read anything for the first three pages in this thread, I will only respond to the thread title: I am sick of all the haters. Kobe is an amazing player, if people can't appreciate that, it's their loss.Yes, he has his flaws, but he is one of the greatest players in the L today. Anyone who claims to love the game, love the NBA, and hate on Kobe, doesn't know sh*t about basketball, and should frankly shut the hell up.Try to be more objective when it comes to judging a player's capabilities.I rest my case.

MJ is the GOAT. I'm pretty sure he would've taken this lakers team to the playoffs. However we don't know if he would or wouldn't so arguing that is senseless. Kobe has to be the biggest faker in interviews. He tries to be Mr. Goodie two shoes, but obviously he isn't behind closed doors since Phil Jackson once called him "uncoachable" and he has had problems with one of the most lovable guys in the league.

Well half this is lakerfan garbage so I will respond to the nitwit who said Marion and Amare were "arrogant" as well. Guess what dumb ass, they're not going around saying they can score on anyone at any time. And then f*cking game 7s up.
Kobe had problems with shaq because he didn't want to be controlled by shaq. Shaq was the leader of the team and kobe wanted to be it. But that isn't why shaq got traded, kobe was exploring free agency when that lard asked for a trade. He didn't get 30 million dollars so he asked for a trade. Had shaq got his money, shaq would've been a a laker and kobe a clipper. Now again, i thank you god for not allowing that to happen. It would've been the destruction of the laker organisation.Secondly, i dont' care if your jesus. MJ without phil on this current laker squad would not take this team anywhere. It took him a while to get his team to .500. Even if you say 91 mj, he's not going to make Kwame make lay ups or walton play defense or make odom make the right decisions.edit: Marion is arrogant, didn't he say he was annoyed when everyone says nash this and nash and not him? and how about him laughing at the suggestion we could pull off an upset? It's arrogance. Marion is arrogant.Secondly, how many players have said they can score whenever they want? I swear i remember ai saying something like that. That's superstar talk, you don't have a superstar so you would know nothing about it. You can't hate one player for his arrogance and not another.

Marion was championing himself as an MVP candidate this season though, which IMO is pretty cocky considering he isn't even the MVP of his team. first of all why would they pick up pierce, that isiah thomas kind of thinking getting steve francis to work with steph ...........second he was the knicks first choice and as u can see they give away $$$.

If anybody thinks Shaq left solely because of the money issue, then they are kidding themselves. Obviously the money played a part in it, but the Kobe issue was more prevalent and impacted Shaq's decision more.I just have a quick question that I always wondered about. Say that the whole thing didn't turn out the way it did. Say Shaq did accept the $25 million contract (or whatever it was that the Lakers offered him), and Kobe bolted for the Clippers or another team. Would Laker fans be hating on Kobe as much as they are hating on Shaq right now?
To Diesel:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He is so stupid for cheating on his wife when she is so HOTTT.</div>MJ cheated on his wife too.MJ gambled.Everybody has flaws. You were correct by saying that Jordan was the GOAT. You know why you said that? Because you are judging MJ on his actions ON the court, not OFF the court. Try to do the same thing with Kobe, and maybe, just maybe, you will se the light, and finally come to understand what it is to have a true passion for the game. Until that moment, I suggest to stop with all the negative posting on Kobe. Come back some time when you regained your senses.
