MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Just when Josh Howard appeared to be carving an important niche in the NBA for himself again after battling back from a torn ACL in his left knee, the 32-year-old forward is right back where he started. The Timberwolves waived him Thursday after an MRI revealed a torn ACL in Howard's right knee. He was injured Friday at New Orleans. The team initially hoped he would be able to return this season, but as usual for these hard-luck Wolves, the news could not have been worse. There was a joke during the summer that if they wanted all our players so badly they might just bring the injury curse to their team. Coincidence . . . I think not.
Rubio was limping around the court as well. Also ... waiving a guy who was just injured 5 days ago is cold-blooded. I hope Minny at least offers Howard the use of their trainers and doctors as he rehabs.
I believe they have to. Just like when we waived Pendagraph and he still used the team doctors and was rehabbing with Blazer trainers I believe.
