We're only one game out. I still think the 5 seed is possible but the 6th seed is realistic. Maybe first round series against 3 seeded Spurs?

I don't even think 8th seed is realistic.

I think it's too early to worry about seedings. I think we're making progress towards getting a playoff spot. Once you have that, you can worry about matchups.

In my opinion, yes. We are a young team being led by a rookie PG and its still early in the season. Let's see if we can get a few games above .500 about halfway through the season, and if Lillard is going to hit the rookie wall. Even if we stay healthy, I think simply making the playoffs as an 8th seed is about the most we can hope for. Get Lillard a taste of playoff basketball, and then look to bigger things next year. Of course I'll be happy as hell if we do any better than that :)

Right now there are 9 teams with better records than the blazers. And the Blazers are 26th in strength of schedule so far. So if we can't be in playoff position while facing easy teams, I doubt we make it to 6th as we start playing tougher teams.

No matter our projection or projected record I don't see us getting in the playoffs. I do think we will just barely be out though. 9th seed if there was such a thing.

2 of those 9 teams have one more loss than us.

Crazier things have happened, and usually the 6th seed's record is barely better than the 8th seed's. Count me in on the optimism club.

I'm not saying it can't happen, just that its not likely. Perhaps after half or 3/4 of the season, if we are still in position we can start this discussion in honest.

...but looking at the +/- average point differential paints a more realistic picture of where the Blazers will likely end up at the end of the year. Keep in mind too that Dallas is playing with, arguably, one of the top 3 best players in all of the NBA.

We're 1.5 games behind 6th place Houston and we own the tiebreaker so far

Even if we had a chance, it's just that.... Past tense. HAD.

Add this to the list of KS jinxes.

I still can't believe we lost to the Pistons and Wizards, and twice to the Kings. Win just two of those 4, and we own the 6 seed right now. :hairout:

Wont be the last time we lose to crappy teams this year. Its going to be a fun but very very frustrating rest of the season
