Yes, it very ironic. Intentionally ironic. Good job shutting down Hostess. Hope those union wages last a while.
The company closed as a legal mechanism to bust the Union so they could sell the brands for more. The Union did not cause the closure. Keep watching Fox News.
If that's the case I'm sorry to misunderstand. It came in my email with a bunch of dime a dozen insults from people on this thread. I just took it the wrong way. My bad.
really? You get insults? Man, I feel slighted now..I have never had anyone send me a PM with anything other that kindness, and I know I ruffel a few feathers here..
They're not even good insults. Just junk about Unions that have nothing to do with anything I have said or done. They're not even personal, just generic. I've talked better trash in a basketball game.
This place is funny. Oregon, and Blazer fans in general are predominately liberal Democrats, but for some reason all the right wing Blazer fans have sniffed out this board and smeared it with all their garbage propoganda. And yes, Unions are the backbone of America.
Fuck you MZ for shutting down Hostess and my access to fried Twinkies! You're an abomination to the US Nation!
Unions made a choice to strike. Hostess made a choice to file Chapter 7. Everyone made their choice and now everyone has to live with it. Seems fair to me.
I was in your union for 7 years. Have to say I wasn't impressed. Not that the union didn't negotiate a darn good wage/benefit package, but the constant "hate all management", "us against them" stuff just got old. The managers of the areas I worked for were all A-1 people. Yet if I shared a joke with them or something like that I got railed on by my union brothers. Why is it so necessary for the union to demand I hate people? And hate those people who are good to me? I never did figure that one out.
What kind of Teamster work did you do? Also, why do you give a rats about the dynamic between hourly/management? There's a reason there is hostility between the too sides (I think you're exaggerating the conflict). It because all management cares about is lining their pockets with bonuses and are always afraid of the person above them. Us hourlies just want a fair work place and for the company to go by the contract.
To show my age, I was in when blue label started. I did some preloading as well. No, I'm not exaggerating it at all. My two sups were excellent guys. Whatever we wanted they got for us. Sometimes they rode around on the belts and we got into nerf ball fights. A couple of unions live or die types would yell at us to stop being friendly with management.... It was a hate relationship.
