My point--which you seem to have missed--is that calling those guns "assault weapons" is a political designation, meant to achieve a political end. After all, it's only reasonable to put constraints on "assault weapons", as opposed to guns used for things like hunting and self-defense. I'm not a gun person, but I do believe in the Bill of Rights.
300M guns. 8,000 murders using guns. That's .003% abused. The other 99.997% of guns are obviously not used for killing (people). So much for that lie (guns only purpose). Only in hollywood would someone carelessly point a gun (loaded or otherwise) at someone else.
