How much of an upgrade do you think Josh Smith would be over Hickson? I'm not sure that's even a possibility as he might be better off staying in Atlanta than coming here. He seems like the best player on that list. It's depressing.
The targets should be a back-up PG, a starting SG, and, assuming Hickson leaves and Leonard starts next year, a back-up PF. Jack or Telfair would be an improvement over Nolan Smith and Price. There is nobody at SG that is realistic in terms of how much money it would take to improve on Matthews, so that will have to be addressed in the draft. Make a play for Millsap if Hickson does walk. Yuck, not a lot of difference-makers on that list.
Disagree with that. Mathews has been great (although not healthy) and your not going to improve over him in the hustle/defense department/3 %, and with Batums emergence as a play maker the ability to have a SG who can make plays isn't a desperate need. I do think we need a backup SG though. There aren't a lot of "difference-makers" but it is deep in 6th man/backup talent and that is good for us since the only real starting spot that we will need to replace/upgrade is PF/C spot (whichever one you want to say LA doesn't play).
