Wow. What a great way to start 2013! I paid a premium for two excellent seats in MSG, and the Blazers didn't disappoint. My first in-person look at Lillard, and I loved his aggressiveness. He made some incredible layups and one spectacular dunk. Not an excellent shooting performance for him, but he made up for it with a big 3-pointer in crunch time. It was beautiful. It took all the air out of the crowd. Batum had an excellent game, Aldridge got some big tip-ins and rebounds, and J.J. made key contributions. It was pretty clear that the entire team was keyed up for this game, and they played hard from start to finish. Just a great performance against a good Knicks team.
That's awesome, Shooter. I turned down free tickets to watch my nieces in San Diego. Sorry I missed it. Great win, start to finish. Batum must've really frustrated Knicks fans in the third quarter.
Thank you, Eric, from Blazers fans everywhere for not attending. No disrespect intended. But we needed this W.
Felton was out, but I expected Woodson to give Camby and Kurt Thomas extra minutes, hoping for a revenge motive. They combined for only 13 minutes.
It was a very unexpected win! I figured the Blazers would lose handily, since they haven't exactly been road warriors this season, and NY had only lost 2-3 games at home all year. I'm starting to care more about the Blazers winning, wanting them to stay around 500 and have a shot at the playoffs. Hopefully in the offseason we'll be able to retain Hickson and get a backup PG.
Oh, yeah, Batum made some very big 3-point shots. It was SO MUCH FUN to see the Knicks fans get crushed time and again by his shooting.
Shooter, keep following them. You're the anti-KingSpeed when it comes to being a talisman for the team (sorry, Eric, but it's true).
