same here, I felt that it was one of the better movies the year it came out..just well done, good script etc..dont know why it never went over big on screen...lack of promotion? Distribution? or just not plugged into the vampire, hogwarts craze?

That's really good for a scifi movie.

    I suppose so...

I thought it was better than some highly touted movies, like the last three star wars, any of the big screen star trek movies, the last two alien movies..even the seconed tier I wont mention, but that you know..and most I would have to think would have paid off more..I guess tastes have changed with the times..

Did you see Prometheus? I thought it was pretty good. I see that Ridley Scott is already making a sequel.

no..I was told by a friend that it was just OK, we have the same tastes in film..I will wait for cable on that. He did some work on it from wat I remember, and said that the movie could have or should have been edited better...I dont know..Let me ask you , how well does the story line and dialogue flow?

The movie has its flaws, but the visuals are amazing. Unless you have a great home theatre set up I think you missed out not seeing it in the theaters.

I thought it was pretty bad. Especially the story line and dialogue.

I thought Prometheus was so-so. I had too many hopes going into it for what it would be like.

This is the main reason I didn't like it. I knew there'd be awesome effects, but I was also anticipating a good plot, and Prometheus was severely lacking in that department.

I just saw Hunger Games (was waiting til it came on Epix). It was a lot better than I was expecting.

The Vengeance trilogy is amazing. Is Will Smith still in the remake?

Never mind, I just looked it up. Spike Lee directing is waaaaaay more reassuring that a Spielberg directed and Will Smith version. That said, one day I hope we won't have to remake these great foreign movies.

    Oldboy
    Release Date: October 11
Director Spike Lee's retelling follows an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor's motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an elusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation. Based on the cult classic directed by Chan-wook Park. Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Imperioli co-star.

That's Hollywood for you, no originality. Hopefully they do a better job than what was done with 'The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo'.

    Thanks will scope it
