Duarte to UCLA as expected, still not sure why 247 thought we had a shot when his only visit was over a year ago. next up is ross whonwe have a fair shotvat but wouldnt be shocked if hevpicked washington
no silly, I often make fun of stupid/ridiculous statements. You make those at a rate no one is remotely in the vicinity of matching Wrong as usual. I've relayed the origin of my handle a few times prior. It has to do with a stomp pad snowboarding product I was going through the patent process with in late 90's... that was happening when I started chatting with this same community of Blazer fans please link when ever I've proclaimed myself a recruiting expert. And I'd hope you can understand how crushed I am that the guy who seems like he's constantly menstruating doesn't think I've anything worth saying whatever... do us all a favor and occasionally make sense STOMP
Robinson twins were repping Oregon at Semper Fi tonight. The negativity of a few of you here is just ridiculous.
Recruiting has just been odder than the usual oddness this year. Truth is of the targets commiting only 3 did we have a shot with (folston, ross, mcquay.) and only mcquay was a big need high value target. As long as we keep dontre and tyner i dont care that much who the 3rd back we take is. With wr we have different standards and it is tough to start at oregon. As more and more players commit, targets are just looking thinner.
Would have been a TD if the lead blocker had been able to knock away the punter. Tough to get on a kid for not knowing when to block on special teams in an All-Star game, though.
http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=28346 Devon Allen sure looked good at WR yesterday in the Semper Fi game. Blazing fast, good size, and he caught at least 5 balls. Really curious that he doesn't have an offer, but then again they don't really have much need at WR. STOMP
247 is saying that despite Dontres recent comments to espn about being 100% duck, that he is opening it up (supposedly due to osu negative recruiting tactics about oregons sanctions) and will visit Ohio state on January 11 or 18th.
Even with Chip staying Dontre still interested in Ohio state will talk to father about arranging visit. 247 Ohio st members seem to think he is an Ohio state lock.
I don't really get as excited about recruiting as I did a couple years ago. Watching guys join the program who I thought had a lot of promise, and literally never saw them even play before they transferred (Blackmon, Seastrunk, Sumler), has made me realize that it's fun to follow recruiting, but it's really not that important. Many of the guys who contributed to the last four years weren't even highly ranked. So for me, I don't really care or get disappointed if someone goes somewhere else. I think it's great if we pull some big names, but it's more important that Chip recruits guys who fit our system.
I follow it because I enjoy seeing the new blood enter the program and like to get to know their stories. Seeing the players and their families get excited about their new opportunity is fun too... it's pretty much the same dynamic that always has me following the NBA draft. In recruiting I've seen enough 2* guys blossom and 5* guys fade to know that the ratings are just best guesses by sites as to which 17 year old projects best. I've relayed the same personal anecdote of growing 8" after I turned 17 many times because it highlights what a fluid situation the ranking of talent truly is. The goal isn't to get the best 17 year olds to commit, it's to get the guys who will be the best at 19-21 and those qualities don't always show up in their HS highlight reel To me it's overwhelmingly obvious that Oregon's staff knows what they're doing based on the results on the field.
