The heat suck. We're championship material even without Rose.

However, Kurt has a few minor nicks here and there. I just don't see how we can win without him at full strength. 100-0.

Bulls will give them a game, but fall short.

I don't have a strong feeling about this, but I do have a feeling that we'll win. Jo's coming back and Taj's restoration will be the keys.

I do have this feeling, too. Bulls will win. Perhaps a lucky ugly win, but a win.

bullsger, if the Bulls can win this game, it could be the luckiest and ugliest win in the history of the game and it would still be beautiful to me.

I didn't exactly call it. Boozer was the man. But it seems rebounding was the story,so taj and Jo were in the mix. Anyway, yes!

    Well, that was satisfying.

    A few observations from tonight:

Jimmy Butler looks like he could have a Rick Fox like career. I think they play in the same way.

This is a cliche, but Kirk does have a good floor game. He's lost some quickness, but he gets in people's faces like Jerry Sloan (I think...that's a bit before my time). He always has his hands all over his defenders and puts his body on other people. I can see why Thibs and Derrick are fond of him. He just naturally plays the way you'd think Thibs secretly wishes every player would in his heart.

Derrick because they seem to have similar approaches and attitudes.

This is a wonderful surprise, but I can't believe I watched Boozer play against the Heat for 42 minutes and NOT ONCE think to myself "Jesus, rotate on ****ing defense, will ya?" You never even noticed he was there. That's a compliment. He even used the Tomahawk chop to get a few steals tonight.

I missed most of the game because of the Cotton Bowl. Watched the 4th quarter during time outs. Wow. Just wow! Nice win.

Yeah, I'm very disappointed in myself. I should have foreseen that a team that got beaten soundly at home on Monday by a team that had lost 18 straight would thrash the defending champions at their place on Friday. My bad.

Well see, that was your mistake. Don't read the future from the past. Look for the dawning light (or coming night) as the case may be. :-) my prediction was based on the bulls revival on offense at Orlando, and Jo's and Taj's return, plus the recent struggles of the heat. I liked the trends.

Nice comment about butler and fox. He's been a difference maker this year.

Now, are you accusing me of being contradictory? :-) Guilty as charged.

You know what I mean. The Bulls lost to Charlotte and barely beat a bad Magic team. If they had played like that against Miami, your prediction would have been generous. But how they played didn't mean much. What mattered is how their play was trending. (Edit: In fact, I was probably reading the curvature, not the slope...:-))

Anyway, I guess there's no way around it. The past is all we have to go on. But we need to know what part of the past matters and what doesn't. It's the slope that matters.

    Go Bulls!
