Showtime isn't ready to give up on MMA. "Shark Fights, Legacy Fighting Championship, Invicta FC and Xtreme Fighting Championships are among those rumored to have been in talks with Showtime (per MMA Junkie)."

Shark Fights, out of Texas, have put on 21 events. Legacy Fighting Champinoship (LFC), formerly Legacy Promotions, also out of Texas, have had 18. Extreme Fighting Championships MMA (XFC), out of Florida, have had 21 events. One-handed lightweight fighter Nick Newell is their champion. Invicta Fighting Championships (Invicta FC), out of Kansas City, have had four events, and are the first stateside promotion to feature only female fighters.
