I just ordered Tony Dungy's Quiet Strength: The Principles, Practices, and Priorities of a Winning Life. It appears to be a worthwhile read. Has anyone read it? Thoughts? Thanks
The problem that I have with "motivational" books is that it's a lot harder to put their motivational tactics/ideas/etc. into actual practice than it is to read them, understand them, and agree with them. Carnegie's "Hot to Win Friends and Influence People," sold 15+ million copies. Just going out on a limb, but I'd assume that all of the 15+ million readers weren motivated to become 'successes' in life, but a few weeks later they continued to live their lives the same way your or I do. Life motivation has to come from a truly personal place.
This. Your new love will motivate you far more than some author capitalizing on your desire for self improvement.
I like to read positive things....other people's successes and/or ideas....whether I embrace/employ their offerings, or not. There's plenty of trash to read/see in the world. I chose the alternative.
Basketball My Way by Jerry West. http://www.amazon.com/Basketball-My-Way-Jerry-West/dp/B000TW1LYI Taught me my jump shot, among other things.
Not just how to shoot, but about dedication. Which speaks to people being motivated for a short while (not dedicated!).
My boss handed me this book. Looks like it has some good insights in it. http://www.amazon.com/Customer-Sati...sr=1-1&keywords=customer service is worthless
