Would you also take the 0 points on FG% = .000 any day of the week in a 22-point loss? For the season, in 34 games Damian Lillard is averaging 6.5 AST and 3.1 TOV That's an AST:TOV ratio of 2.10 In 7 games, this seson, Ricky Rubio is averaging 5.0 AST and 2.3 TOV. That's an AST:TOV ration of 2.17 So, Lillard has a slight edge in this stat and is doing it as starter for a team with a winning record. Passing is supposedly Rubio's biggest strength, yet his AST:TOV ratio is worse than the rookie Lillard's. Plus, Rubio has yet to score in double figures this season. In fact, he's been held scoreless in 3 of the 7 games he's played. He is averaging 3.6 PPG on .208 FG%. And Minnesota is 3-4 in the 7 games Rubio has played. His other supposed strength is that he makes his teammates better. Wrong! According to 82games.com Rubio's NET on court/of court is -9.1. Which is why he can't beat out Luke Ridenour for the starting PG spot on .500 Minnesota team. And, by comparison, Lillard's net on court/of court is +11.4. So, Rubio HURTS his team's production by 9.1 points per 48 minutes and Lillard HELPS his team by 11.4 points per 48. That's a difference of 20.5 points per 48 minutes in Lillard's favor. BNM
Of course Lillard is better at almost everything (if not everything) than Rubio. No one cares about Rubio yet you guys feel the need to keep bringing him up. If he had a good game there wouldn't even be a post in here.
Did you watch that youtube clip I posted? I know he's not a good PG, but that shit is harlem Globetrotters worthy.
Why is he even playing? He's clearly not ready. His lateral movement is seriously on par with Kurt Thomas. Great move, Kahn.
They "literally" guaranteed fans (specifically Season-ticket holders) the playoffs this year so they rushed him back and will rush Love back again to hold out any hope.
That's the real question. I think Rubio was ridiculously overhyped, and being on this board/community, where we had posters saying he would bring a title to Portland as a rookie if only the Blazers traded LMA or Roy for him, helped shape that opinion, but when I watch him this year, he is clearly hobbled. I give him credit for trying to play, but he's hurting the team, and he is not as bad as he has shown to be this season.
I just saw Love is out at least 8 weeks. The only guarantee is that Kahn will be fired after the season, if not before it ends.
3 points/3 assists/4 turnovers tonight in 22 minutes. He isn't healthy. He's not very good when healthy, but clearly he is playing with injuries that are making him look like a D-league player.
The rubes are admitting Rubio.is not a max.player. They said they would sign him for 9 or 10 million per though. They should just sign Sergio for 3.5 million a year. A cheaper Spaniard PG that has dazzling passes and cant shoot.
When Rubio's knee heals up he's going to be a very good player ... definitely not a scorer, but he'll be good nonetheless at everything else you could ask from a point guard.
the we have one player with touch inside (pek) and no one who can shoot the three. hurts his assist numbers, and hes obviously not the same guy he was last year, but he will get there. and we only had 3 guards yesterday, so that sucked. and probably 2mrw.
