Interesting. Ric Bucher is reporting that Coach K is strongly considering bringing LeBron coming off the bench for the US team simply because he isn't buying into the team approach that the US has been going for. He has been having the most trouble out of the big three in developing chemistry amongst one another (Wade and 'Melo have developed a great chemistry with one another on the court). Also, Coach K says he sees shades of the '04 team in LeBron because he has a tendency to hold onto the ball too long and slow down the flow of the offense for the US squad. He also said that LeBron looks to do to much for himself (i.e. he's trying too hard to be the impact player he is with the Cavs) instead of playing within the US team concept. This is a very interesting development. This whole thing will truly test the new US system of putting the TEAM before the player. It will be interesting to see how LeBron and the US squad buy into this if it indeed ends up happening, because Coach K has said that all he cares about is putting out the best TEAM to play against international competition, and at this point he feels that LeBron would be better off playing off the bench instead of starting.Thoughts?
I'm sure it will hit the papers soon enough, but I just saw the segment on SportsCenter right before I posted it.
Interesting. I can see LeBron playing like this. If he won't buy into the way Team USA wants to play then he should come off the bench and Coach K is 100% right. I mean this is Team USA and has some of the best of the best. There should be know start out there.
:g: if it's true, then i guess u can see it coming if u watch how he played in those exhibition games.

I guess this would be good if Team USA plays better together and wins. But I wonder what Lebron has to say....

Supposedly being the key word there...

i think mello is playing the best on teamusa at the moment- since he and bron play the same pos. i'd bench bron too. Plus they reall starting to gel when he sits for a bit.
Yeah, I saw the U.S.A. vs. Lithuania game and I noticed that Lebron was trying a bit too hard to be the star player out there. He took some questionable shot, and missed most of his jumpshots. Melo is playing great ball, and I would have Lebron come off the bench to send him a message.
It's easy to see that Wade and Melo are gelling quite well together, whereas LeBron is the odd-man-out in terms of chemistry between Team USA's "big three."
