You know, I've got to give it to you guys for the closeted homosexual angle. I was reading about this yesterday, almost to the point of obsession, and I don't think anyone else had brought up that possibility. Bomani Jones did a good hour on it when the story dropped that's supposed to be pretty entertaining - http://www.theeveningjones.com/ I'm about to watch that...
Seems like the Deadspin article was strongly hinting at the "seems like hes a closeted gay" theory without actually saying it. So far that is what makes the most sense to me. And at this point I think people would be more understanding if it came out that he was gay but trying to hide it because hes a Mormon, football player, famous athlete, etc. etc. rather than if he just made it up for publicity.
Perhaps the national media would be more accepting of that explanation, but would his family? Or would the NFL executives that are looking at drafting him? Mark Schlereth was saying this morning that even if he were involved in the hoax, some teams might red flag him for this, but most would be more interested in his 40 time. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that many teams would be concerned with the potential ramifications of bringing an openly gay player into a highly testosterone-fueled environment like an NFL locker room.
Find it hard to believe he wouldn't make an effort to meet this (beautiful) girl in person, ever, so...
This is crazy! He had to of known about this from the begining and was a part of the hoax. Was their a fake funeral for this imaginary girl?
Apparently he gave an off-camera interview with Jeremy Schaap that Schaap is about to reveal the details of on the 1 AM ET Sportscenter.
