Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets), LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat) have been named captains of the 2006 USA World Championship Team, USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced today.http://www.usabasketball.com/seniormen/200...c_captains.htmlI think it's great for Team USA to have these 3 as co-captains. They are all experienced players and they all have shown their leadership skills on and off the court.
Figures. The top players from the 03 draft class. I expected Battier or Bowen, older veterans that people look up to, to be captains. Don't get me wrong, people look up to Wade, Melo, and James, but I think Bowen would have been the smarter choice. Doesn't make a difference though. We still will get the gold.
^Bowen just got sent home by the team. I think this is the right choice. These are the guys who will make the most impact on the U.S. team. These are the scorers.I still think Bosh>Melo though...
I am happy for Lebron and Wade, But I am extremely happy for Carmelo. He deserves this for all the hard work he put into this offseason. Maybe next year the rest of the NBA will notice and he can make a damn all star roster.
Happy for Carmelo, but does this mean that Lbron won't come off the bench? Or will he be Capain Bench.
I think either Carmelo or Lebron will start, so either way a captain will be coming off the bench. I dont think it really matters whether you come off the bench or not for the U.S. You will still get minutes if you are Lebron freaking James.

Melo has done way more for the team this year and he is also the hardest working according to Coach K. Bosh has done NOTHING to impress me in the games that I have seen. He has settled for 3 balls and he is almost 7 feet tall playing agaisnt much smaller and less gifted players. I could think of plenty of guys that deserve the captain spot over Bosh. Hell, even Chris Paul. He is the point guard and the floor general.

It depends on how much Wade improves by than. Joe Johnson seems to know his role well and he should start as well at SF. Lebron or Melo at the PF.
