Dontre trying to make a package deal to get Demarcus Ayers an Oregon offer to solidify his commitment. We haven't done this in the past would be interesting to see what Helfrich does.
for sure losing Chip (and now coach Azz too) so close to signing day really negatively impacts this class. PSAs on the fence have good reason to go another way with the uncertainty of who is going to be coaching them at UO. Making the bad timing worse, because of a recent Oregon law change the Ducks are going to be required to go through a formal hiring/interview process where at least one minority candidate is interviewed. This process of hiring a coach won't happen overnight... schedules will need to be aligned etc so the uncertainty will linger. If only they'd have tanked last year and got the season over early we'd have a coach in place and back kicking butt in recruiting... dream dream dream the silver lining hope is if they're able to hold onto most of their verbals they'll be fine depth wise and should be easily able to make it up the numbers in next year's class. Besides quality RB depth, I really don't see much immediate need from this class for next year's squad to remain a top BCS contender... or, I'll exhale once Tyner signs. If the Ducks are rolling again next year demonstrating that alls well, I suspect that their depth chart could make them much more attractive to top shelf recruits. If they roll (as expected), it could be a really fun year to be a fan STOMP
What if the Ducks make it to another BCS bowl and win? Not a natty(I see Stanford and either TAMU or tOSU) but a BCS bowl win, probably the Rose. Will we be able to recruit good?

Isn't that what you wrote just a bit ago while sounding once again like the Duck authority you sooooo are not? Still think Chip is a classy guy? Tell me how do you "REALY" feel about him solely gutting our recruiting class, taking a handful of coaches and leaving us looking at NCAA violations two weeks to national signing day? Knowing what I'm saying is fact I'd love to hear your spin on this? You may need to find a super big shovel for this retort! Here's what we do know, Chip is gone, "Nice call on that one once again!", recruits are pissed and even the ones he did keep up with he didn't decide to inform them he was taking the eagles job. IE "WILSON, TWINS and Falah" Saying you may go to the pros and you are leaving tomorrow are very different statements, even a blow hard like you must comprehend that! We haven't recruited well all year, and "I've been saying that" and the real reason why is Chips heart hasn't been into it! FACT! Thus why we have now maybe 9 recruits and the big names that were supposed to be coming in for visits have all cancelled! Chip is no fool, he knew his timing on this one was AWFUL and he simply didn't give a shit! Here's another fact, Uncle Phil is not happy about any of this! Chip's ego is not bigger than Nike's checkbook, something the Chipster might have wanted to factor in before pissing off the same guy that made him a national name. Ya see Phil ultimately decides who is coach here, not the AD, Oregon or even the massive duck nation. Phil does, plain and simple! My only hope is that you Stomp will be invited to join the Chip caravan to Phili, a city where inflated self righteous opinions like yours will be so warmly met!
big surprise that the threat to never respond to me again was (yet again) all a big tease Joy to the world, GP is back to making strawman arguments with himself STOMP
highly rated visitors this weekend and hammering out the details of becoming head coach. He is better off worrying about Zach Cunningham, Cameron Hunt, Torrodney Prevot, and I'm drawing a blank on the 4th at the moment lol
rivals is unfurling their final rankings. In the top 100 they released today TTyner moved up 4 slots to #17 and Dontre Wilson moves all the way up from 178 to 100 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-3053 STOMP
They also said in their chat session, dontre has a greater chance of landing at Ohio State than Oregon.
pretty much whenever anyone brings his name up you're right there to throw the same bucket of pessimism. It's the time of year when the recruiting sites crank up the rumors but right about now no one probably knows what DW will do including Dontre. So again... we'll see Heres my best shot at the positive angle. Certainly he won't choose tOSU over Oregon because of the depth chart. Their top back Carlos Hyde should be back for his Sr. campaign, they've 3 former 4*s who will be Sophs or Jrs and there is another rivals top 100 RB already in this class. Last season the Buckeyes ran the ball 559 times while the Ducks rushed 685 times. When he committed to UO his dad said it was a business decision and sited Coach Campbell's record of assisting young backs to make it to the NFL... Coach Frost will be visiting in home this week STOMP
There really was no Oregon Optimism coming out of that Rivals Chat. They couldn't even list any Targets outside of Hunt/Williams they thought Oregon might get. I suspect some of the issue was the ones chatting just don't care for Oregon as a team and it came through.
most of their national guys are all SEC and the owners of the site are Bama alum... I'm guessing Gorney was missing from the chat. Being a community of Duck/Blazer fans, we're used to being sold short, so whatever. I'm very pleased with how things have gone recruiting wise since the bad news that Chip (and Azz) were leaving as the verbals seem relatively solid. The team's short term needs are few and some extra slots for next year's class isn't problematic either. If the current verbals hold I'll be happy, but regardless there will be some other commits. The high profile guy I retain hopes for is DE USC commit Torrodney Prevot who was in Eugene last weekend. I have no reason to think he's likely to flip, just really hoping he does as dudes an overachieving high motor/character stud STOMP
Robinson twins wanted to play hoops and football, the Ducks finished #2 in the nation in football this year. The basketball team has just knocked of AZ and UCLA + USC at their places and are a top 20 team. So not sure what they are looking for? We are running the same offense and they'll have a good shot to start if they can play at this level..... OSU just like USC is a stud farm and the Robinson's may never see meaningful minutes for either team and I'm not sure USC or OSU is offering them hoops dreams. As for Dontre Wilson... OSU is the wrong kind of offense for his running style but hey do what ya want! We've got Tyner, DAT, Marshall, we'll be just fine! Our thoughts should be in locking down another LB and a DE with speed. Our skilled spots are loaded!
New Targets DE Davin Bellamy OL Elijah George Victor Egu had Scholly pulled by Cal, not sure why. Not sure if we'll renew interest.
