Just remember its a game. Find some way to enjoy the game, even when losses pile up. I enjoy watching Lillard in his rookie year. I enjoyed watching Batum get his first triple double. I enjoyed watching Wes hit the tying three pointer. I enjoyed watching Meyers play again after a longer injury than I expected. And yes KingSpeed, I enjoyed flipping over to see the Lakers lose.
Bullshit. I do not pay my hard earned dollars to find enjoyment out of watching my team lose to a vastly inferior opponent. There was nothing enjoyable about watching Washington score 34 points in the first quarter, especially after reading quotes from our players for two days how they need to play better defense. There was nothing enjoyable about watching us score 13 points in the 3rd quarter against Washington - which has no defensive players. There was nothing enjoyable about losing to a team that starts Martell Webster at shooting guard. You remember Martell right - the guy who was so bad off of our bench that we traded him for LUKE FUCKING BABBITT! Find something to enjoy my ass.
At this point I'd consider it - but I doubt the Blazers are in a hurry to give me back my money based on the current product they're having to sell. I'm sick of blindly supporting this franchise that has been poorly run for over a decade and in that time has never even sniffed contender status. The dedicated fans of this city deserve better.
Well look on the bright side, they might actually be headed in the right direction under Olshey. His plan is sound, now comes the execution.
Spot on. I used to take the losses real hard, getting depressed based how the team did. It sucked. I made a choice to try and change the value I place on winning and losing, and overall it has been a wonderful thing. But to each his own.
Put things realisticaly guys. At least the Blazers aren't 130 million in salary cap to fill their 2012-2013 roster like the Lakers are. source: http://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/y18s5/lakers_will_pay_130_million_to_field_their/ more source: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/salary-cap-affect-los-angeles-lakers-fan-051200883--nba.html At least our team is projected to win at least 30 games with the current roster that we have. Plus the Lakers are still doing horrible and lost against the Rapters too.
I guess its kind of like what we tell our kids, there is a difference between wanting and needing. I almost desperately want the Blazers to become a legit contender but I dont need them to. I can even be disappointed that they lost but my expectations were realistic that this was going to be a process. So at times this year I have been ecstatic with that progress. I love the Blazers but I am to the point where I will turn on the game strictly to see what Lillard might do next. The rest is just gravy. To even have been on in the playoff hunt this year has been fun. Now the second that upper management says that we are a legit contender and we dont show it then I would begin to have some serious issues. We arent there yet. Period. Enjoy the ride. And yes, this is a different ride than even last year.
LMA must suck. I mean, he's let this team lose six games in a row, right KS? Isn't that what you were saying the other day about another player whose team had lost six in a row?
Really? This is a team talented enough to beat the world champions, and yet we shouldn't be upset that they lose to the Wizards at home--and let them score freely around the basket for most of the game?? Really??
I don't get down after losses like this...... Just like I don't get all crazy happy when we beat teams like the Heat and Spurs. It's sports...... If you played growing up your coaches always told you on any given day any team can beat another. This team was supposed to win 30 games..... They have played above expectations if you ask me.
Webster started at SF. Beal started at SG. Who determines how many wins this team was supposed to win? You? Nik? Bill Simmons picked us to win 41. Blazers played tougher opponents. Learn the game, then post.
