IMO the Pacers, Kings, Grizzlies, and Bucks might not make the playoffs next year.Thoughts?

Grizzlies probably will make it this year. They were the 5 seed last year. Plus, they only lost Battier and Bobby Jackson, but they added Rudy Gay, Stro Swift, and Chucky Atkins?, and still have Gasol and a healthy Damon Stoudamire.

The West is getting very tough. They may be the odd-team out.

It's tough to say. The Rockets and Hornets should be in it, but there is only 8 spots. I'd give them the nod over the Kings, but maybe not the Grizzlies.

There will be other contenders like the Jazz and Twolves to add to the Hornets and Rockets, so it should be tough.

Their team seems to always be injured which is why I can never count them in to the playoff mix. If they are healthy (which IMO is doubtul) they can make a playoff run. But with their injury history, I would rather take a team like the proven Grizzlies. Not to say that the grizzlies are proven IN the playoffs but they can get there.

Keep in mind that they had a great draft in getting Paul Millsap, Dee Brown, and Ronnie Brewer. Deron Williams will have a great sophomore season as well. I was just saying that they are contenders for the playoffs.

With a healthy Utah all season, i could see them being as high as a #6 seed. Thats just the thing though, their best player is always injued and so is carlos boozer. I will agree with you though that Deron is going to have a great year. And I want to see what it will be like to have him and Dee Brown in the game at the same time. Them along with Luther Head were a great trio for Illinois back in 2004-2005.

I dont think you get what I was trying to say. I was saying that there will be alot of playoff contenders so it might be hard for the Grizzlies to snag a playoff spot.

The bottom half in the West will probably make for a more competitive race then the top half. Kings, Hornets, Warriors, Jazz, Grizz, Rockets are battling for the last spots.

^You forgot the Lakers. Atleast mention them if you are going to name the Warriors. Also, I think the TWolves will do alot better next year, and be playoff contenders.

Why not? They have Kobe and Odom. I could definately see them getting the 7th or 8th seed. Why did you mention the Warriors then? Do you think they will finish higher than the Lakers? Thats a joke..

The teams I listed are teams on the bubble.

lakers.there's no room for some crackpot "triangle" that doesn't work, a ballwhore, and with the other rising teams in the west, it's not happening

And calling Kobe a "ballwhore" just shows ignorance and a lack of creativity.Plus, the Lakers got the 7th slot last year despite blowing about 6 or 7 games because of a collapse. And I really do mean blowing them, they lost a game after going up by 15 in the 4th, after going up 19 in the 3rd, after being up by 4 with the ball with 25 seconds left, and there were multiple games that they lost when they had a 3 point or larger lead with less than a minute left. They lost all those games because they were such a young team playing with all new teammates in a completely new offense, which is understandable. But they grew as the season went on, and they will continue to grow this season, and with a good offseason so far (-George +Maurice Evans, Vladimir Radmanovic, Jordan Farmar, Shammond Williams) the Lakers will almost certainly be a better team this year than they were last year. That's not to say that they're suddenly contenders, but they're pretty high on the list of borderline playoff teams.
