Watching them get blown out by the Rockets reminded me of how much WE OWN the Rockets.

Man, on the radio, they've gone from championship to the herculean effort it will take to get the 8th seed. I love it. They're starting to doubt they can make the playoffs. It's beautiful.

There's still a lot of basketball to be played. 4 games can be made up in the standings in 7-10 days. We're not even halfway through the season.

You're absolutely right. The guys on the radio in LA here think that if the Lakers fall to 15-21 it's over. But I know it's not. They'd have 46 more games to turn it around. The problem is that the West is so deep, it's definitely a task to leap past 8th, 9th, and 10th seed to get there. I remember in their "fourpeat" season (02-03), they fell to like 10 games below .500 and they still rallied and got the 4 or 5 seed before losing to SA in the second round. But that team had Horry and Fisher and Shaq and Phil Jackson. This team has Meeks, Duhon, Sacre, and D'Antoni.

PS: They're down 101-85 to the Spurs with about 7 minutes left.

Houston's loss pulls us even with them in the loss column too!

Fun game. Kobe hits three, SJax gets another T and Kobe pumps his fist. Kobe is sooo good at hitting the shots that make the game interesting. You know, cut it to 6, to 2, etc. But when it comes down to the tying shot or winning shot, he almost always chokes. This is another moral victory for the Lakers. They now lead the league in this stat.

That was fun, especially since the lakers LOST.

Question, how far down do the Lakers need to fall before you think they are missing the playoffs?

Well, the prevailing feeling in Laker Land is that they need to win 2 of 3 the rest of the way. It should take 46 wins at least. If they somehow fall below Dallas, I'd call it over. There are many stories of comebacks though. The Pacers were 16-23 in the middle of the 93-94 season and they went on to reach game 7 of the ECF. They were reborn with the addition of Haywood Workman at PG. The Lakers need a trade, something to give them new life. Pau for Amare? Nash/Amare/MDA could get hot. The good news for the Lakers is that Minnesota is injured and we are young so we are jumpable. The team's they're worried about are Denver and Utah.

Do people really this Pau's trade value is that high anymore? It isn't just this year that he has sucked (and I not talking about when injured). I love it when people say the Lakers can get someone like Josh Smith for Gasol.

    Not.
    Gonna.
    Happen.

I think Amare can be had. It's addition by subtraction for New York. They were great without him. Anything Pau added would be a bonus. Pau for JSmoov is never happening.

Plus, I think Pau has just next season under contract, but Amare has that plus another year as player option. So NY would end up saving about 26 million by doing that trade. Either way they have a broken down player.

The only good thing about this is that they aren't going to get their own lottery pick. The Suns had no idea they would get as of tonight the #11 pick in that Nash trade.

Suns fans should be delirious. They could get two top 10 picks this year.

I'm so stoked by all of this. It's been TWENTY YEARS since the Blazers had a four game lead over the Lakers this late in the season. We should all take the time to really appreciate this. It is RARE.

You've picked them to lose almost every game they've ended up winning though. Our whole season boils down to the back to back games against Utah. Win both and we have a really good shot at making the playoffs.

After all, HCP, didn't you pick the Lakers to win 70 this year?
