What would you like to see the Blazers get in a trade for JJ Hickson?...

Hibbert cannot be traded to us until his current contract expires.

No. But I would trade JJ Hickson for JJ Reddick. Both are UFA at the end of the year. Both are significant contributers to their teams. Reddick would be awesome off the bench for Portland.

    I don't think that's right

We rescinded our offer to him, so technically that rule should not apply to us

Oh did we? Once we were losing out, I stopped paying attention.

EDIT: ah, now I think I vaguely remember Olshey saying something about this. I was thinking he'd still signed the offer sheet. But it'd make sense for all parties involved. If Indy ever considered moving Hibbert, it'd allow them to still deal with Portland, which obviously had interest. And it would have been respect Portland showed Indy and Hibbert.

I think that's right anyway? I remember reading that Olshey came to an agreement with the Pacers to back off the offer if they promised to sign him for the same money or something like that. It ended up being beneficial for everyone I remember

Yeah, after posting, I immediately edited my post to add my vague recollection.

So a couple of draft picks is fine then?

Depends on the picks, not if they were second rounders. Doubt any team is going to give us a great pick for (possibly) only a few month rental of Hickson.

Evan Turner or Tyreke Evans. Then, slide Batum to SG and Matthews to bench. Sign a new big for the bench next year. Start Leonard.

You really think we could get Evan Turner back?

No chance, but I'd do it in a heartbeat.

It's possible. Philly has 3-4 free agents all due new contracts this summer. They may not be able to give out all that money!!
They also have a hole on their roster at PF. Only Bynum and Hawes are bigs.

Don't really have anyone important, outside of Bynum, needing a new salary. And your deal is sort of a contradiction in that, where they need bigs, so they trade for Hickson, who will be a free agent, while moving Turner, who has a contract for next season.
They have Turner, Young, Hawes, Holiday and Richardson all locked in. 7 of their top 9 guys in minutes all signed for next season. And aside from Bynum and Hawes, they have Young and Allen both playing PF and C, respectively. They aren't trading Turner for Hickson.

I think the most we get from Hickson is a late first rounder. He is on a cheap contract and it expires so a team wanting to make a splash in the playoffs might want to trade for him but no one is going to give us much.

I'd take Tyreke for him, but i doubt Sacramento would want JJ back.

I didn't guarantee that this trade would be made. Just answering a question.
    Yeah, you must be right.
