I dont get it. Seems like he is the most complete player ever. a trip dub for a season?? and yet he is never mentioned as the best?
I don't know why either. He could do a lot. He could score big, rebound, and play tough defense, he was a great great player.
wilt had little success and only 2 rings! - one more than oscarsuccess?> He was NBA Rookie of the Year in 1960-61, played in 12 straight NBA All-Star Games, was selected to the All-NBA First Team nine consecutive seasons, won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 1963-64, and helped the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Championship in 1971. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979 and named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996-97.that succesful enough?
Of course it is. He was a great player. He shouldn't be blamed for things that were out of his hands.
I think its the markets he played in. Cincinatti and Milwaukee aren't exactly the places everyone notices. if he made played and put up those same numbers for New York, Los Angeles, or Boston I think without a doubt he'd be concidered on the the greatest. but as it stands now, he's only remembered by the true hardcore fans of the NBA.
Jordan Wilt and Probably Bird are above himIMO Elgin Baylor is a guy who gets no recognition around here.. wuts up wit that?edit: there goes the LA theory?hey, Jerry west is almost as underrated as Elginedit2:hey, I just realised that they are both GMs now and have both been the GM of an LA team!!edit 3: theyre both great GMs too!Jerry being the best GM around and Elgin beimng the GM of the year

Definetly one of the top 10 of all time. I watched him play like once lol and he had such a complete looking game. It might be the era he played in. I mean Bill Russell played in the same era and he's arguably the best of all time but only true hardcore NBA fans know who he is.The era is a big part of it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>edit 3: theyre both great GMs too!Jerry being the best GM around and Elgin beimng the GM of the year</div>I wouldn't go as far as saying Baylor is a great GM, I wouldn't even go as far as saying he's a good GM. this is the same guy who has been the GM for the past 20 years of the team named the worst franchise in sports. just because he has one good year doesn't mean he is great.
ur remebered by ur titles 20 years later......if he was hear now he;d be the biggest name in the mediatell u da truth...... never herd of him till recently
