I would have to say LT with larry johnson a close second, LT has everything a RB needs to be succesfull
I say LaDanian Tomlinson too. He can run and catch well, and he is still young. Larry Johnson isn't proven enough to be the best RB, and Shaun Alexander might be too old.
how old is alexander anyway, i think hes still a good RB but i don't see him being the best in the NFL i do say he maybe the 2nd or 3rd best
Same here. I guess Alexander is only 28, not as old as I thought, so he's in his prime, but LaDanian just seems to be the more versitale of the two.
28 doesen't seem to be old but in football terms it might be a lil older then you would want your RB to be
LaDanian Tomlinson is hands down the most versatile running back in the NFL right now, and I'll easily say he is the best. Obviously Reggie Bush should take over that title in a few seasons, but until then LT holds it down with LJ and Alexander next in line.
reggie bush will probaly be the best RB in the nfl sooner or later but probaly not in the next year or so. I see bush being the best RB in the nfl like 2-3 years from now
I'll hold judgement on Reggie Bush for a few years, I think he'll be real good, but I'm not sure "best RB in the NFL", at least not yet. It's LT by a landslide, with Shaun Alexander, Edge, and a Healthy Fred Taylor after that...Guys I know Larry Johnson is a fantasy stud, but the guy has done it for half a season, or a little more, I'm not ready to annoint him a top 5 actual back in the NFL...not yet anyways. Like I said he's a top 2 or 3 fantasy back...but I'd take all the guys I listed above him any day of the week.
How could I forget about Edgerrin James?! He'll have a hell of a season with Arizona. Matt Leinart should be thanking God everyday that he was drafted into that situation, even though he probably won't be the starter until next season, although he could possibly take over sometime during this upcoming season.
I still don't like Larry Johnson being that high on anything other than a fantasy list, but I thought about Tiki Barber...My list is:1. LT2. Shaun Alexander3. Edge4. Tiki Barber(since he doesn't fumble anymore)5. Fred Taylor(when healthy the guy is as talented as any RB not named LT)
Here's mine1.LT2.Shaun Alexander3.Larry Johnson4.Edge5.Clinton Portis6.Tiki Barber7.Rudi Johnson8.Fred Taylor9.Willis McGahee10.Carnell "Cadillac" Williams
iin a few years carnell williams is going to be one of the best RB's in football probaly 3-4 or something like that
I'll have to go with LT, just like everyone else. He's by far the most versatile and he does it all with a below average line, unlike Larry Johnson and Shaun Alexander. If LT played in somewhere like Denver...oh my no telling how many records could be broken. lolMy overall top 10 rankings go like this...1. LT2. Shaun Alexander3. Larry Johnson (I know he's not very proven, but we all saw this guy has what it takes)4. Clinton Portis5. Tiki Barber6. Edgerin James7. Steven Jackson (I know he hasn't proven much, but I expect him to be huge this year)8. Ronnie Brown (same as Steven)9. Rudi Johnson (gets a lot of help playing behind a great offense)10. Fred Taylor (gotta put him on here, we all know what he can do when healthy)Honorable Mentions: Carnell Williams, Julius Jones, Brian Westbrook, Lamont Jordan, and Warrick Dunn
1. LaDanian Tomlinson2. Shaun Alexander3. Tiki Barber4. Clinton Portis5. Larry JohnsonNo mention of McAllister or Reggie Bush in this thread. They should at least be considered top 10.
McCallister is pretty much done being an elite back with his injuries and Bush is a rookie. He can be good but with him their is a possibility of being a major bust also. I wouldn't put him in the top 15 without seeing him do run a down in the league. My top 5 are:LTLarry Johnson(may have to wait after this season to put him at 2 though...)AlexanderBarber PortisEdge(would be top 5 but his o-line will probably even take him out of the top 7 stats-wise...)

This is one time that I will say that it is entirely wrong to assume that he won't live up to the Heisman.
