To add to the ones you missed Clevland - i know he's new but LBJGolden State - Chris MullinJersey - J kidd?I also think seattle should be lenny wilkins or jack sikma
What??? Jack Sikma or Lenny Wilkins over Payton? No way.I was thinking LBJ possibily.New Jersey could be Drazen Petrovic, even for four seasons.
I think Dirk should be there instead of Ro Blackman, its a given that hes going to end up with all his records, and you cant forget that hes the only Mav to lead the team to the finals.
no disrespect,i just think it's so hard for one fan to name the best player on each team ...........u don't follow every team equally ............if we're talking last 10-15 yrs. it's possible ...........but beyond that, i don't know.

I don't think so. Russell was the player that basically started the Celtics franchise and is arguably the best of all time.

This one is no different. When you love the NBA so much, you get to learn things. I didn't live back when Dr. J or Bob Petit played, but I follow the NBA and have read and watched them. You got to love ESPN classic.Iversonfan, I don't see how that is laughable. Bird didn't start the frachise, but his consistancy and his titles during a time of much more competition gets the nod.JHowardfan, I don't agree. At least not yet. Ronaldo Blackman still has his records. Let's wait until they are broken to hand the torch over.I agree with DSoung and TheAnalysist on their additions of Dr. J and Bob McAdoo.Clangus, Gary Payton has led Seattle to many great runs in the playoffs. His consistancy with his teams winning ways and his great 2-way game is enough to convince me that he's number one in Seattle.

I have a hard time going past a hall of famer and someone who has his number retired.- I'm not saying that GP wont have that at the end of his career. I just think winning a ring is the ultimate measuring stick of greatness.

Thought of anotherone. Warriors-Rick BarryAnd I would put Ewing, Frazier, or DeBusher instead of Reed fo the Knicks.

I always pictured Willis Reed as the best player in Knicks history. I never got to see them play though. I know that in the 1970 Championships, Willis was injured and still played. He played his entire career with the Knicks, and still won two titles and two finals MVPs, to go along with a regular season MVP.

Being a championship coach alone is something but playing while coaching. there's 2 different mentality doing those jobs, some players can't even focus just playing on the court.that's ur opinion and i respect that, but i can't believe u just said that.
I mean, it means a lot, but it's not a huge difference. Bill was a smart man, and could make a huge impact as a player and as a coach, as he did.
