He makes a good argument that it was the USSR that won WWII and not the USA.

I don't agree with it but he brings up some interesting points.

I think he got that right. USSR withstood the siege and in the end it was a race to the heart of Berlin.

His love of anticapitalism shows in how his version of history is distorted. The USA sucks, the USSR actually won the Cold War. USSR had society right. Stalin was brutal but doing the right things. Etc.

He continuously tries to make the case that the USA always was a Progressive society and there was a vast right wing conspiracy holding us back. That the govt. was hijacked by the right even with how FDR replaced Wallace with Truman as VP. Anyone with a clue should see through this BS. The nation was founded on principles of Liberty, small federal govt., and states were the seat of power. For the first half of our history, elections were about constitutional questions and issues. The progressive ERA didn't begin until 1890 for crying out loud.

Oliver Stone believes JFK is a docu-drama.

Want a terrible "documentary" that has been debunked? Try Fahrenheit 911. What a joke that movie was.

You haven't missed much. It's somewhat interesting, but it's oversold as being great.

Here, watch this 1985 HBO documentary about my close middle school friend Roger Stillwell, a 6 foot 7 Chicago Bears starter who died a slow death from a game injury, and NFL all-star Jim Otto, whose leg was amputated in 2007.

On a serious note, I usually only watch sports related ones, so Hoop Dreams, Baseball and Olympia are all great

When You're Strange is a very entertaining documentary about The Doors. Johnny Depp narrates.

Tyson is pretty interesting if you can stand the guy.

Jesus Camp is a bit disturbing.

Roger & Me is pretty great, too.

Used to get that one confused with Basketball Diaries, neither of which I've seen.

I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember really liking Dark Days. In nothing else, the soundtrack is done by DJ Shadow.
