Top 8 PG with a ring. Definetly. He was a great player and had some very good years and he just accomplished the ultimate goal. I don't know how he can be excluded from the HOF.

I think he will. Honestly if he didnt get in the hof it would have been because of the lack of a championship. He is hof imo

I think he would have made it into the Hall of Fame even if he had not won a ring, but this championship with the Heat just solidified his resume, even though he didn't play a huge role (top three player on the team) in their championship victory.

He was probably in before he got the ring. Now they have his name pencilled in. [IMG]

So it could hypothetically be erased, I imagine.

Because I think he was a lock to make anyways and he wasn't a major part of the championship imo.

I agree with the majority, he would have made it without a ring. This just solidifys he chances.

Why even question this? He was a lock without the ring, this guy was one of the best defenders/playmakers in the prime of his career. Even now, he's still a decent point guard to have coming off the bench.Another aspect of his game that a lot of people don't mention is his ability to stay healthy, this guy is meticulous with his workouts and prepartion. Look at his career statistics, the most games he missed in a season is like 5 or 6.

Malone is in for sure. Payton is no malone- great but no karl!! Karl will get in despite not having a ring, Payton will get in now that he has one.

Without a doubt Gary Payton will make the HOF. He is arguably the best two way pg of all time

[IMG]</div>Exactly. He was such an incredible player in his prime. He was one of the best playmakers for his time (and threw the best oops), the best defensive PG I have seen since I was born, a tru leader, a great post-up guard, etc. He did it all. I mean he is a 9-time All-Star, one of the NBA's all-time best defenders at the PG position, he put up the numbers (20+ ppg, 8-9 apg, All-Defensive team), and now he has his ring.Put it this way, if he doesn't get in I will cry and higher a hit-man :winkglasses:

He is one of the most competitive players of his era. But the thing I loved about it is that he would get into the other player's head, then go all-out on defense. He was great. He always had something to say, sure, but he always backed it up.
