Aldo and Pettis are set to meet on August 3rd. Pettis recently won what was thought to be a title eliminator bout against Donald Cerrone at lightweight but has had his eyes on featherweight instead. With Gilbert Melendez and Benson Henderson set to fight in the coming months, Pettis opted to take his chances at an immediate shot at featherweight rather than wait for lightweight to shake out (and get a chance to rematch Henderson). There is no city/venue set for the August 3rd event.
