I don't like it. Mahinmi sucks.

Intriguing. You're getting a pretty decent PG (would IND ditch him in a playoff run?) and a younger version of Damp/Mikki Moore, but will still have 8M or so in cap space. Honestly, I think swapping Hickson for Mahinmi and Augustin makes us a playoff team. Why are you giving up E-Will instead of Smith or Ronnie? Not that I care about any of them, but you'd think IND would at least want a serviceable player, right?

I guess is you don't believe you can sign a good free agent for most the 13M, then it might make sense. Mahinmi has been out 4 years and would like average about 7 boards and 1 block per game. Not much to get excited about.

I think I would rather just have the 13M and see what pieces I could buy on the open market.

he's very similar to a 2007-2010 Joel Przybilla, but with a better Drtg (and worse rebounding, but everyone has worse rebounding than prime Joel). Joel was a drb% beast. But with literally half the turnover percentage.

That, going forward, in a 26 y/o, for 3.5 more years at 4M per? Which 13M player are you expecting? If Pek, compare the two, and then see if you'd rather have Ian and an 8-9M player at backup PG/SG going forward.

I think Elliot is GO2.0 so I am for it. I just can't imagine Indy would do it. I guess Hickson would be a decent back up Center.

If by 'very similar' you mean about half as good as Joel (reb & blks) then you're right. Otherwise you are sadly mistaken. Is turnover % really your selling point? Starting center is our number #1 concern this offseason and you want to downgrade massively to Mahinmi?? The guy's had five years and has done dick, that's hardly the center LA is gonna want to play next to. I'd rather keep Hickson or look for better options.

Your right, Mahinmi is cheap. Now lets try to figure out why... As our GM has said our starting five is the priority, so in my very humble opinion I think it'd be smarter to use the majority of the 13m on them.

Maybe they want to dump Mahinmi and save money? If they have a spot for Hickson and the $$ they can bid this summer like everyone else. (I have no idea what their financial situation is and I'm not going to look it up.)

I would do it -- IF that's the best we could do. We could use Augustin -- though I haven't seen him much lately and I'm surprised his PER is so low -- and Mahinmi is relatively cheap.

I'd also like to give some Dleague guys (bigs) a shot. I still think Hassan Whiteside can play in this league and he was buried like Hickson in Sac. I'm hoping that after the trade deadline we perhaps cut someone and open a roster spot for some 10-days. No risk, high reward

Yeah, two backups isn't a very exciting return for Hickson. If there is any chance to work a sign and trade for a 'needle mover' (starter) we should probably exhaust that route before settling for backups. But is there that chance?

They would be in a serious problem position. West will be a free agent and should demand a large contract. It could make sense if they want to move on with West and get Hickson for cheaper. Maybe that might work. But then again, what's West really worth? He is getting 10 mil this season. I suspect maybe 8-9 mil. Isn't that what many are agreeing with Hickson?

I just think for Indiana, obtaining Hickson is a lateral move.

I know nothing about Mahinmi so I can't say one way or the other. But i do like Augustin as a back up.

However ideally I would like to get a tall back up PG that would allow Lillard to slide over to the SG position for 6-8 minutes/game. That could solve two needs with one player. Not sure Agustin and Lillard could work together at the same time. Not a deal breaker, but again ideally I would like to have a really good back-up PG who will get 18-20 minutes a game . Which means some minutes with Damian
