I thought this was the last season for it, and we'd finally be introduced to the mom this coming spring...now it turns out the show was renewed for a 9th season (next year)?

Guh..not sure I can sally forth for another year of them prolonging the story.

the mom will probably be the last shot of the season. then next year it'll be like the courtship ending with a proposal.

I just got into it in the last two months or so. Always lumped it in with shit like the Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men but enough people were telling me that I should give it a chance and I did. Pretty solid show, and especially welcome for someone who doesn't have cable or netflix (its on syndication pretty much from when I get home from work until when I go to bed).

    And I fuggin hate friends.

This is kinda the way it is for me. Never saw it until it went to syndication. Funny show. Didn't know they're still making new shows. Kingspeed should be playing Barney.

All TV shows are better than having any actual friends.

Most TV is not very good. That's why shows don't last long.

I've watched this show from the beginning. It's clearly a friends variation, but the writing is decent enough and the actors are likable.

I really liked My Name is Earl, but they cancelled it. The story line was one I see as original.

2 1/2 men is a rip off of the odd couple. I liked Charlie Sheen much better than Kutcher.

Best show on TV right now: Shameless.

Getting bored of HIMYM. I've been keeping along, but it's a chore. Only thing keeping me from going away completely is NPH

Suits - great show, great dialogue, really good acting.

White Collar - I enjoy it.

Falling Sky's - it's really only during the summer, but it's fun to watch.

House of Cards - I hope Netflix makes more shows. I recommend anyone who has Netflix to watch it. Very entertaining.

Biggest Loser - it's the only reality tv show that I'll watch. You can pick up some good info on being healthier, plus the transformation of the people is amazing.

Shows that I have a hard time getting into:

Breaking Bad - I was bored to tears.

The Walking Dead - I watched the first season and I liked it, but god it's gotten annoying since then.

Dexter - Again, I liked the first season, but after that I lost interest.

The Office - the humor just isn't my cup of tea.

I think this deserves a new thread. Favorite shows to watch. I am going to start one as I don't see one currently. (there is one for movies but no TV that I see, if I am wrong then Sly can just merge)

I couldn't believe just how bad the Big Bang Theory actually was, it always looked stupid, but i never actually watched it. How in the hell does shit like that actually win awards?

I just started meeting people who like it. Their first response to my trashing it is that I "don't get the jokes", which isn't true. I don't think there's any joke on there I haven't understood or gotten the reference too, its really not that hardcore dorky. Its just really stupid IMO.

I feel like when I watch Fox, ABC, CBS, etc. and see the commercials for all of their shows and say to myself "who the fuck watches this shit?" you're that person. Obviously tons of people watch those shows, but I have a hard time even giving them a chance. I really do think I can't get into a show that doesn't have a certain level of sex/violence/swearing/etc. Its really a sad commentary on my own taste. I liked the Office with Michael, and I like Modern Family. Other than that pretty much all the shows I watch are on HBO, AMC, FX, Comedy Central, etc.
